Keep tour eye out across a range of stores. Baird have recently been selling what appeared to be a large stock of 1957 and 1959 Gillicks which are the lowest mintage of that series of pre-decimal coins. Premiums were not too bad and they were in very very nice condition - to my eye, well into the MS60’s

When I first started, I was of the same opinion as the OP. Having bought some Victoria Shields, I was hooked completely. An amazing coin with an amazing history. I collect particularly Aussie Sovs, and very much enjoy the history of the Sovs struck in the Branch mints Best Dicker

If you can spare the cash (before paying the debt). Then look at coins that: - Don’t have VAT (gold) - Are CGT exempt (this won’t affect most folk, but worth it if you have a lot of assets, or as a hedge for when the government further reduce the CGT limit). Personally, Sovs and Britannia’s do this for me. But it’s horses for courses! Best Dicker

My guess is that if you sent this in for grading, it would not be noticed. I am not sure it would devalue this coin - for me, it is somewhat unique and therefore something I would buy over another couple that did not have this quirk. But that is just me! Best Dicker -
