The past 2 weeks have been productive, converted graded silver into gold...

Picked up these two beauty's at the local coin show today - Considering that they are the old style holders - to find them in mint condition is really hard to do.  Most have handling damage, the plastic separating on the assay card, etc.

The coin had definite finger marks on it before it went and I would have rated it PR65 at best.

No fingermarks and a PR67 - speechless!

A bit of a long winded one with a bargain at the end.

Coin details : 1 X 17.5g + 1 X 3.5g made from 900 gold (stamped on the coins too) so fine weight = 18.9g, however as they are produced outside the UK they are listed as 18ct.
After a little searching for a price check I notice Chards had a 2 coin set and a 3 coin set listed as 18ct.
So basically got the the two sets with a fine weight of 2.66oz for a total of £1.72 over spot for the lot

Great coin, I have just sold one of these. Unfortunately a high grade slabbed set of all the ZAR coins is way out of reach? They are very impressive at MS64 and above.

Wanted to protect some shieldbacks from further erosion and a very nice result for the 1804 1/3 Guinea (only 17 ngc and pcgs in higher grades up to top graded ms64) and the 1/4oz Britannias. And another free ngc box thrown in for free  Also got a free customised bag and a traditional box of cakes and sweets. They like me

1914 Costa Rica 10 Centimos (actually at point of entry in WW I in 1918 Costa Rica had reissued its currency in e.g. 10 Centavos coins but they were made of brass and the 50 Centavos seem to be made of unobtainium, so I cheated a bit here)
 

Love my eBay Bucks! Picked up a Gold 1/4oz Britannia for $200 shipped! Too bad they are only given once a quarter and are maxed at $500...

The reverse probably took inspiration from the 1937 New Zealand Florin, adding the Silver Fern, which almost replaced the New Zealand flag.

Bought myself a 1937 Sovereign, have wanted one for a while. I just need to get the £5 then my 1937 collection is complete.
 

Half sovs just arrived from HGM, George V 1925 and Liz 1982, very pleased with the condition. Couldn't believe how excited I was opening the package and wondering what I had been sent. Apologies for the crappy camera. My first gold.
 

I received these proof threepences over the last couple of weeks,  I just wish it would stop raining so I could have decent light for a picture.
They look amazing in the hand.
