JohnA1 reacted to KarlAggo in Sigma Metalytics Precious Metal Verifier/tester
So sorry if this isn't the right place to list this item, but have no clue where else to, so please let me know.
I bought this brand new from this forum, with the intention of testing everything I bought, I tested what I have (once) and it works a treat (and none of you ripped me off 👀🤣) but a change in circumstances forces sale 😔.
It has everything from new, used once, British plug.
Seems like they go for £1,200 on eBay so can we go £1100 900? which includes RMSD to your door, ready to go.
I could include photos but it is literally brand new what you would get from https://www.sigmametalytics.com/product-page/pmv-original-basic-set
I would like to add, to the person I bought this from, who seems to get them from the states for us all here (which is great), I never intended to re-sell and it has been over a year since purchase, I just didn't want it to seem like I am buying to sell on, this is a genuine reason for sale, not sure it was necessary to explain but just for transparency.
Great machine which seems like a necessity to me if you buy precious metals from different sources.
Cheers guys 👍

JohnA1 reacted to BackyardBullion in Royal Mail/Fail..."Dangerous Goods" Completely stupid
@JamesH
From my experience, that means the royal fail didn't get around to delivering your package and will do it next working day.
As an update to my "dangerous" package....
They royal mail don't know where it is.
Tracking has not been updated.
They literally can't tell me where it is.
Looks like this will end up being a claim but they want to wait a few more weeks before we initiate.
Total shambles.

Why not. Silver is cheap, pretty, and will always hold intrinsic value. And like 'The Pools' you might get a surprise return on it someday, but I wouldn't hold breath.
Silver's most attractive asset is to scratch an overwhelming itch, which it does nicely, so you can't really lose.
Big ... chunky ... bars! 1oz coins. Lions and tigers and bears ohhhhhhh my!

As stored wealth goes, gold has always been the ultimate aim. Either with outright violence, subtrefuge, deception, confiscation or whatever else
This much for the recent myth that government 'securities' and all sorts of promisory notes are money. They are not.
The Romanians could have dug up deep underground tunnels to hide their gold, like others do (often boobie-trapped and burying in the workers and engineers so no loose ends are left)
Now they're still asking for their gold back.
Possesion is 9/10ths of ownership
There's a lesson there

JohnA1 got a reaction from BLOOMMAN101 in BIS paper on gold percentage within portfolio to manage risk. Even 50% is mentioned
https://www.bis.org/publ/work906.pdf
These are the guys pushing the 'paper is money' narrative
Yet the percentage of gold they calculate for portfolio risk minimisation is kinda larger than one would expect..

If you went to the Apple shop and spent £10K they wouldn't bat an eyelid, they'd probably offer you another credit card

JohnA1 got a reaction from AOB in Are banks restricting payments further? RBS put a block on my account using BS excuse
Tried to transfer a few hundred squid and 'computer says no'🤬
Not a new payee either. WTF
Says now restrictions are £1000/day for all payments altogether.
It used to be £1000/day for a new payee because supposedly they are not 'verified'.
Now it's the same limit for all of them, even if it is a few hundred here, a few hundred there.
They're tightening the noose it seems..

JohnA1 got a reaction from Coverte in Banking app: go paperless or stop using it
Virgin has been charging me a couple of pounds per monthly statement for a few years now.
Not the same.
Printing their text is or taking a screenshot is not the same as their own printed paper, when push comes to shove. It's OK for your own records, yes, but in a dispute after a credit 'event' it would be inferior evidence

JohnA1 got a reaction from Coverte in Banking app: go paperless or stop using it
Tried to log on to the Barclays app this morning, it pestered me to go paperless - tried to bypass it, nope.
Closed the app, started again - back to the paperless declaration. It suddenly became a condition of use.
If you don't "agree" to go paperless, no app for you..🤬
Paperless means you have no way to prove anything at any time. It is their printed figures against your verbal claims.
I see this as another part of the preparation for an extended bank holiday where a lot of 'wealth' will change hands.
Bastids..
