Although the rarest of the four coin gold collection (mintage just 1,195) it is, sadly and undoubtedly, the least attractive - more Edwina Currie than Ellis. The coin is the penultimate individually minted au round £1 to enter my ongoing collection (now 23 designs), just the 2015 4th Portrait remaining elusive. My thanks to @Earthmetal for a magnificent example of this proof pug...and also to @MancunianStacker for starting me on this auric snark-hunt.
Superb photos!

My "1042" was 16.59.
Fenlander's "£1044" was 17.01 as was my £1045
In that case your bargain is three quid better! After all, rules is rules...

Okay, as it's not contested by @Fenlander1 then @arphethean is the winner! Well done, I think you have a very good deal indeed.
Thank you all who placed bids.- James32, arphethean, Fenlander1 and 1 other

Congratulations @arphethean
I should have been intelligent enough to have posted a reminder!

Aargh, I was outside and missed the end!
Any idea how I get a time stamp as I can't see one! -

Will I regret this? Let's find out!
As I don't like rules, there is no reserve, no minimum bid, and the bid increments are whatever you like.
Auction ends on Sunday the 12th of May at 5pm. If you're considering a last-second snipe the time will be taken from whatever my computer screen states, this could possibly differ from yours!
The winning bid is for the coin, capsule, & certificate of authenticity, and will include postage by Royal Mail Special Delivery (within mainland Britain).
I've not opened the capsule but the coin looks very, very nice to my eyes.

£232 including Special Delivery.
In lovely clean, damage-free condition
Purchased a couple of years ago from a reputable auction house (I paid too much by mistake, hence no offers sorry), described as 15 carat, the example with two stones was described as a "Diamond brooch" but I know nothing about stones I'm afraid.
Both are marked "15C".

Nope, they have a habit of double tapping themselves in the back of the head whilst their hands are tied behind their backs, all the while swinging from a tree by their necks. It's an amazing feet of dexterity and ability

Anything for anonymity. Must conform. No distinguishing colour, no unusual choice of make/model, blacked out windows...
then they buy a registration number with their name on! -

Don't know about BMW, but if you're buying a new Audi, standard colours are black or white, anything else is a £2K add-on, metallic is £3k and the super matt finish metallic is £4k.
That's 2oz of gold just for the paint job!
What! You mean people actually pay extra for those Wheelie-Bin Grey paint jobs?
