Interesting spike low on release of better than expected US retail figures. Perhaps that was just an electronic push which failed? The price has again rebounded sharply though, and it could in fact be the bottom for now. I will be interested to see how tomorrow's UK inflation numbers come in. That might make a bit of a change to the GBP.

The silver market is small compared to gold hence easier to manipulate by the big players.

Not sure if anybody looks in here very much but thought I'd share my WW2 date run of coins now that I've completed the British part of the set! (In doing so I am pretending that the silver 3d coins were never made as they're fiddly and annoying...)
A few international coins have made their way onto the second page, also dated 39-45, and this is what I'll be focusing on next...hoping to get some Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, and others from wherever else I like the look of too!

Charles I (1625- 1649) Tower Mint Hammered Shillings
2 Sold- 3 remain available
Selling to concentrate and expand my Sixpence collection.
Lovely examples of nigh on, 400 year old coins- numismatically one of the most interesting periods of British coin collecting.
Prices under photographs- plus postage of buyers choice, free SD if purchasing 2 or more coins. Keenly priced.
As the country prepares to celebrate the Coronation of Charles III, I’m offering for sale a nice collection of Shillings issued during the reign of the first crowned King Charles.
Charles I ruled in one of the most tumultuous periods of British history, his Reign blighted by feud and unrest leading to Civil War, the Royalists battling Cromwell’s New Model Army, which led to Royalist defeat and Charles I eventual execution, this Regicide signifying the commencement of Britain becoming a Republic, headed by Oliver Cromwell.
Let’s hope Charles III has more luck!

Silver looks to be pretty solid at £30 per ounce on ebay at the moment, I may offload some on there if it keeps going up next time they have 80% off fees.
Alternatively if I can get £30 per ounce on the Silver Forum in the next few weeks I will sell on here.

Hi HMGS,
A few questions if I may . . .
Correct me if I'm wrong but, in your professional capacity as a quant, I assume you work in the banking sector? If so, do you focus on the commodities markets - specifically precious metals? If so, for those of us that want to better understand what causes silver and gold to move in either direction - is there anything - or anyone - you recommend we pay particular attention to? By way of example, I'm a big fan of the U.S. Dollar Index, as the inverse correlation between DXY and silver appears to me to be very strong.
As someone on the inside as it were (assuming I'm correct about you working in the banking sector), how concerned are you and your colleagues about contagion from SVB, Credit Suisse and others? Are you/they withdrawing your own money and buying up PMs like there's no tomorrow?!
😉
