  1. £751 Right, we're above spot. Wake me up at 19:55 tomorrow.
  2. 2023 American Gold Eagle, Type 2 About 20 focus-stacked shots to build this image. I am pleased with the lighting and overall detail.
  3. My EIC George & The Dragon arrived today too. I don't have the lovely wooden furniture as a background though. And personally (might be controversial), I prefer this obverse portrait to the RM version.
  4. Facebook act as an SSO (single sign-on) provider, i.e. a lot of web sites provide a "Log on using Facebook" option. In itself this is fine, but it is easy to spoof, and trick people into providing their Facebook details to scam web sites. It is one reason Facebook suffers badly from scams. Personally, I do not use SSO for this reason. It's convenient, but provides extra routes into your accounts.
  5. Quick rundown of my experiences with coin capsules: Air-Tites cater more for the stackers. They have a fixed outer diameter (for each series letter), and either an inner plastic rim or a foam ring to fit the coin size. They are also flatter in profile so they stack better, and of course they sell tubes for each series to aid stacking. Much harder to get in Europe, and consequently can be quite expensive. The lids fit very tightly together (hence the name) but can be quite awkward to open, as they don't provide a cut-out to get your fingernail in. Lighthouse are more for the collectors. The capsules are available in many (many) different sizes, but vary inner and outer. They have a slightly curved surface, which looks nicer on displays IMHO. 'Grips' have rims, and are the older range. Their 'Ultra' range have smooth edges and super clear plastic. Within 'Ultra' there is 'Perfect Fit', which are only available in a few of the really popular sizes, including ones for 1oz gold and silver coins - tighter tolerances and hold the coin firmly. 'Intercept' have the foam surround, and kind of look like Air-Tites, but their outer diameter varies with the inner, so they are not as stacker friendly. Much easier and cheaper to get in Europe.
  6. I like Lighthouse Perfect Fit capsules. Very clear, no edge and exactly the right height. They say 32.6, but Brits definitely fit. I'd be surprised if 0.1mm makes a difference, but I can't guarantee it - I don't have any Eagles (yet). Perfect Fit Coin Capsules Size 32 6mm 25 or 100 Grips (coingallery.co.uk)
  7. 1oz Eagle, please mate. (Is this the very coin that was your avatar for so long?)
  8. I think I have a 2020 Eagle spare. Nothing else on your list.
  9. I missed this coin when it was released last year. Would be willing to pay approx. £800 plus or minus, for a PF70 complete with box, etc., from a forum member of good standing. Proportionately less for lower grades or ungraded. Let me know. Cheers
  10. Wow! They haven't even shipped mine yet. I do like these 2 coin proof/reverse sets. Make lovely display pieces. GLWS.
  11. The Royal Mint's Memorial Silver Proof Set Coins are in good condition, but the set, big wooden box, cushion, etc, are gorgeous. Definitely worth it for the presentation.
  12. Enhancing the edge definitely helps. I masked the edge with Lightroom and increased the exposure by ~1 stop.
  13. Interesting. My photography skills are better than my Photoshop skills, so I do often struggle getting realistic masked enhancement. I will certainly give it a go though. But I will also have a go at shooting again, with slightly different lighting. I have a spot light that I could try, instead of the very diffuse panels. That might help to highlight the edge. And I will reduce the angle a little. I think I was basically 45 degrees, then it foreshortens the coin so much it makes it look weird. 30 degrees should be fine. Always more to learn.
  14. 2007 Quintuple Sovereign Photographed at various angles. I'm not very satisfied with the edge shot (first pic). Just looks weird and distorted to me. I was hoping it would show some depth, which it does to an extent. I may have to play with the lighting some more, to brighten the coin's edge. I do like the face lighting though. Thoughts?
  15. And thanks to @arshimo2012 my quin collection grows: And I have a 2020 (Australian) mouse to go with my 2020 (UK) rat:
