Nero reacted to TheDoc in Dealer questions: shipping to Ireland
Hi Nero, Dublin based myself and I have used a few different dealers over the last few years, I can recommend https://auragentum.de/ as has already been mentioned and also very happy with https://kraatz-edelmetalle.de/
I wouldn't be buying huge amounts at a time and so they are also very well priced for delivery in comparison with Europa and the European mint.

@Nero's original title was "Dealer questions: shipping to Ireland", obviousy because he is an Irish resident, and he had seen some non-Irish bullion dealer sites.
Presumably, Google would have showed him "local" sites first, so it's my guess he had looked at them and failed to be impressed.
It will be interesting to see if any Irish dealers do offer much in the way of physical bullion.
It's a little known fact that when my cousin Robert Alan Chard was living in Cork some years ago, we set up a company called "Anglo Irish Gold", with the intention of providing a "Chard" branch office. It attracted very liitle business, and when he moved from Cork, we closed the business.

Thanks for suggestion.
I actually hold some Gold\Silver in third party storage already. Again, company is outside Ireland. Now, wanting to store some myself.
I think I did look at MerrionGold at the time, but didnt bother with them as their website lists POA for prices🙄. Cant be bothered dealing with a company with that kind of lack of transparency. May not be true, but Id guess they are not very completive in terms of cost per oz or storage costs....Ireland tends to be non competitive with everything. They probably make their money from people wanting to "stay local"...and people not knowing better.

Can confirm. No competitive dealers here.

Correct. If Chards have an euro account, you would probably be able to do the same. The question is, what conversion rate the dealer can offer.
The spot price of gold is converted from one currency to another using ideal mid-market rate. Is the dealer offering conversion at this ideal rate? If not, the premium in the other currency will go up.
But I am now trying to explain something @LawrenceChard would be the most competent to comment on so let's see if he confirms how it really works.

So I did the maths also:
1740.6 1890.48 1.08610823 So, yes there is something weird there, but as I said, it may be some glitch in the exchange rates, especially as it is weekend.
Sorry, I may be missing something stupid. - No your'e not.
I will tag @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer in to this, and a techie should get to have a look what's wrong, but probably not before Monday.
You could also leave a "Chat" message on the site, or e-mail info@chards.co.uk, or both.

I am quite sure you will not be charged VAT on investment gold bought from the UK, despite brexit. Maybe just some handling fee by the shipping company for the paperwork to clear your goods through the customs.
Hmm, how did you get from £1,507 to €1,889?

There are a number of comparison sites, including on TSF https://www.thesilverforum.com/compare/ but you need a premium membership to access it.
I am somwehat biased, but

Anyone seen better prices anywhere?
Investment gold is exempt from VAT in UK and EU.
Silver attracts VAT.

Haven't bought anything from silber-werte.de yet, but absolutely sure they are legible, also because they are "listed" by gold.de. There you can compare prices among some of the German dealers, but some of them may not sending goods to Ireland.

Hello.
I and many other members could vouch for Baird mint being a reputable dealer but like you say being in the UK that could be an issue. I'll let someone else step in who perhaps has experience on that.
Some other European dealers incase you've not already come across them goldsilver.be and silver-to-go
Even if you've not got an incentive for CGT free coins the modern Britannias have a couple of security features making them quite popular though my experience is that quality is poor.
Recent year maples have been the best in terms of quality that I've personally seen

Hi all,
New to forum after some browsing.
Does anyone else feel we about to see a big upward jump in Gold. Seems to macro stage is set for rises this summer.
Now waiting for the dump 😐.
