My Pistrucci Great Engraver finally arrived. Just the wee 2oz Silver. Delighted to say it is absolutely spot on. Notwithstanding the obligatory detritus in the capsule!
It really is a peach of a coin, superb presentation too - I wonder why can't RM do this consistently though?

ArgentSmith reacted to Tn21 in Which gold
If you are stacking for weight and don't care about quality, the bars and 1 oz coins often go for spot or less recently so it would be worthwhile to save up and get them as they are attractively priced here on the forum. The down side to this is when it comes to resale the potential pool of buyers will be smaller compared to a sov or a lower fractional weight.

Don't show how many have been minted for sale, so can not see a big demand. To be honest it is an ugly coin

ArgentSmith reacted to BanjoJeff in Hello TSF
I've been a small-scale stacker for a while but, as I expect is the case with many, the recent market movements have got me reinvigorated. I found TSF in amongst various bits of searching and reading and it looks like a nice community. I'm hoping to do some buying and selling in the future.
Outside stacking I'm a software engineer and like to act on small, silly ideas. Recently I had the idea of keeping some gold and silver in a treasure chest and I now have a tiny (<10cm per side) iron-bound chest with sovereigns in and that makes me smile.

ArgentSmith got a reaction from ZRPMs in I don’t believe in silver
Above is the only point I disagree with, the elephant in the room is silver production as a bi product of copper mining. However if prices are artificially suppressed for an extended period the result is always shortage. If Silver is moving east as is gold then the Comex (crimex) would soon run out of silver to deliver, which may happen but the price would react violently.
