  1. Hang on a minute, I think I must have eaten the wrong coin?!
  2. Oh that's really quite a nice mixture. Thanks for sharing the excitement!
  3. Surely someone is going to open theirs and show us the goodies? I think it would be allowed. Think of it as a distributed advent calendar of sorts
  4. My call seemed to cover many of the same points. It basically went like this: They confirmed my order and made sure I was aware that it would be delivered in January. And then... They let me know that the version I've gone for is the bullion sovereign. But they have the collectible versions available if I'm interested! They're offering this to all their clients. They're literally one of very few companies that still have some available. They're extremely rare now! They're getting harder and harder to get hold of. They sold out at the Royal Mint in under 8 hours. The sets sold out in under 10 minutes. Fastest selling Sovereign in history. They have the 5 coin set which is obviously the most collectible and most prestigious. They also have the 4 coin set and the single coin version. All these are proof, the one you've got is bullion. Then the killer question: Are you aware of what proof means? At that point I thought it would be mean to let them carry on so I offered to save them some time by pointing out that I had already bought the 5 coin set directly from RM. We then chatted for a few minutes about sovereigns and then went on our merry ways.
  5. My hypothesis is that they put that sticker on the box so they could remember which one contains the Sovereign
  6. Well that sounds weird! But I used a credit card to pay for it anyway, so I'm not too concerned.
  7. They could have saved loads by hand delivering those!
  8. Time to wake the thread up! Mine is being dispatched on Monday
  9. I'm not sure really, they could reasonably claim the call was to let me know about my order (which it was, before they broke out into their carefully rehearsed sales pitch). It's too minor to worry about (it didn't really bother me) but it still felt a bit sneaky. It wouldn't put me off buying another one at that price!
  10. I think what most people are objecting to is being contacted in ways - and for purposes - they've explicitly opted out of. Selling something that is attractively cheap is not a valid excuse to break data protection law, and it immediately makes me question whether I would want to buy from them again if this is how they respect their obligations under the GDPR. But let's face it, if it's cheap enough who wouldn't take a punt?
  11. Here you go then for scale... my sovereigns are already elsewhere so here is it against a 1oz and 10oz bullion silver Britannia.
  12. Here you go then The full 10oz experience, box-drawer-knob-reflection 'n' all.
  13. I got offered the 5 coin, 3 coin and single coin sets of the 2022 proofs.
  14. I just got the phone call too - ostensibly to say my order had been received and would be dispatched in January, but it was clearly an attempt to try and sell me the proof versions too. I don't like that kind of thing. I had the same with Bullion House once. At least they're all polite!
  15. I have to do some work today I'll try and do some proper photos tomorrow morning if nobody beats me to the 10ozer first.
  16. Also pleased with today's other deliveries (even if one of them should have arrived a week ago) I wasn't expecting the 2005 Sovereigns to be carded BUNCs, so that's a nice bonus!
  17. Sure is! Bit hard to read, maybe they need to make plaques that are also susceptible to milkspotting so they're less shiny
  18. Absolutely perfect on both sides. Even came in the usual sealed cardboard box with a 04/02/2019 dated barcode on it, so maybe they just found some down the back of the vault.
