I'll take the 1989 please

You would have an accounting problem anyway. If you bought a sovereign for £400 or £20,000 and gave it to an employee at a lower value you would somehow have to account for the shortfall in value.

May work better with a gold Britannia as it clearly says £100 on it 😀

I don't think the bullion banks care what the price is in GBP. The most important thing is that it closed yesterday above $2000. That was the first time in history that we had a monthly close above $2000, which is a very positive conformation of uptrend. Lets see if it can stay above $2000 for a few days.

Germany can be quite strict with gold. I saw an article a few months back where they confiscated the small gold bars from a Chinese woman because she didn't declare it at the airport. This normally only applies for amounts over Euro10,000. Best check about regulations in your home country

I have just had a call from my bank, they have concluded their investigation and concluded that I was blameless in this scam and have refunded me in full. This is a great result.
I would like to thank all the members on this tread for their support and good wishes. I would also specifically like to thank @BackyardBullion for setting up the victims pool and to all the members that so generously contributed to that. I was very touched by this and now thankfully will not need to make use of that. This is a great credit to the spirit and integrity of the members on this forum. Maybe the proceeds of that fund can form the backbone of a fund for future scam victims.
Thanks again and best wishes to everyone.

From reading the T&Cs it seemed to me you indefinitely open the door to all your transactions past and future when you use that service. I reported it to my bank immediately but have not yet raised it with the police fraud department as the risk to reward ratio seems staked against you.
Action fraud will not get your money back, however your bank sees it as part of the proof that you have really been scammed. They need to tick boxes.

This is also high listed in the risk topic as one of the suggestions of what to check.
This on the other hand would discriminate against members who are naturally shy or feel they cannot necessary's contribute as much but prefer to read and learn from other's posts. I guess there is no easy solution.

Excellent News. Just heard from the bank and they have refunded me the entire £850!!!
Thanks so, so much to all the forum members, moderators and @BackyardBullion who have all very kindly offered messages of support, advice and more than generous donations. It really has touched me to know that the forum has my back.
I know one other member who was effected by this scam who successfully got reimbursed by the bank. Does anybody know how the others fared with their banks?
Thanks again so much!!!
Excellent news. Can you please tell me which bank you are with?
