I don't know how but I've managed to scrape enough together for a proof Sov for each of the kids(thanks to@GoldDiggerDave), now working on the bullion versions...

Depending on condition, year, numbers minted or design many bullion Sovs vary in price. Look for the 2002, 2005, 2012 and 2017 bullion sovereign design/prices compared with other modern bullion sovereigns as an example.

2022s have a one off, different design to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. Like other one off design's they will hold a little more premium in the long run but you will be able to buy them for the standard price from dealers throughout the year.

Looks like the base rate raise is now having some impact, 1,349

I may try to finish off my date run of the 2010s or Gillick Sovs, other than that, a few 2022s I can trade out in a few years... I've overshot my x1 per month strategy (started in April) in part due to the 2022 release so aim to reign it in a little as I also hope to get the call on a watch at some point in the year.

Firstly, welcome to the forum @WinstonSmith Some really good advice already shared in this thread and only started hunting down the shiny stuff myself earlier this year. As a newbie I bought a few Brits via flee bay at first before delving more into the rabbit hole and fortunately found TSF soon after, best thing I've done. I have only a few Oz in Silver and soon realised that after Brexit I'd missed the boat on cheap Brits via Europe, 20% VAT as well as Silver being at such a high I switched metals. YouTuber's such as our great @BackyardBullion as well as 2 is 1 were/are a great way to sit back with a coffee or something stronger over a few evenings to listen to and possibly help shape your knowledge and direction before committing. One thing I picked up quickly was to keep records of your purchases verses spot so you know when your eventually in the black (although it's a long term goal/savings plan/investment/wealth management etc.) and a few members have been kind enough to upload templates/ideas in Excel etc. you just need to search... If your stacking, just look out for the deals - some of the best prices are here on TSF in the Buy & Sell section once you know what you after. If your collecting, I'd say your still find great deals here but the dealers like @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer can also often help with those hard to find pieces. It's fairly addictive but I've learnt that a steady amount of pocket money set aside monthly soon reap rewards rather than going all in at once. The people here IMHO are really stand-up types and help whenever they can, there's a wealth of knowledge - just remember to do a search prior to asking as most questions have been answered one way or another. Most of all, enjoy the journey...

I can't imagine hearing that after waiting so long, really gutted for you. Is it worth contacting them again to query this? Failing a positive outcome, as said above, try PM'ing @GoldDiggerDave as he has a number of sets available - I can vouch in regards to a single proof Sov I'm buying from him.

Keep dropping please - will make a dent in my monthly purchases at some point... (watch it jump now I've said it)

Well at least everyone else's orders are being delivered or about to be, mine is still at open orders. I called the RM this morning and they stated within 10 working days and that my order should be on it's way this week...

Does a 2022 Sovereign Proof count 😉

Now the dust has settled... This was my first purchase from the RM and opted for a single Sov, was tempted to buy a couple to possibly trade one for an earlier proof from the big years but held my nerve at just one. Was an interesting hour or so and was shocked in being able to order so easily, what queuing system 😉 Now I'm looking forward to receiving my first proof and hopefully a bullion version at a later date, for me it's been zero to ~3 Oz's in under a year - who's not regretting their COVID lockdown purchases 😎

I highly suspect it will be if you look back at 2002 & 2012.
