  1. Apart from the modern key dates and my kids birth years, I'll stick with bullion Sovs to slowly build the stack as originally envisaged. I've still 3 key dates to save up for and source but with limited funds it's been a pretty good haul this year thanks to many on TSF, this on top of the hype with the Platinum Jubilee/Memorial release within less than 12 months... RM, I need some breathing space to recuperate and build up some funds again.
  2. and if anyone else is interested... I registered when the proofs were released. https://www.royalmint.com/subscribe/
  3. Possibly, possibly not. The sets have sold out, the remainder are still available but the normal amounts minted for a proof have already gone. These maybe a slow burner right now but with everything going on this year I'm not really surprised. For me, I'm continuing to collect the key date Sov's as long as I can afford them, I believe the mint has gouged most of the profit in these with their price increase but tbh I'll never see it (hopefully) as I view these simply as savings set aside for the next generation of cavemen. Give it ~20 years and the ascension of King William and I suspect these will more collectable.
  4. Good man, met my Mrs many moons ago when she was living in Naarich so I may not be too far from your neck of the woods being on the edge of the fens 👍
  5. Welcome aboard! So are you Fennish @Fenlander1 or a Norfolker being based in Norfolk😄
  6. Fortunately I got a pre-order via a third party so don't have to pay upfront - gives me more time to save up rather than maxing out the CC for a month again 🤞 Mind you, it will then be the bullion version and whatever is released in 2023, Coronation etc... 🙄
  7. Brilliant work getting the set, congratulations - I still need 3 myself; 1989, 2005 & 2012. Mine are all slabbed with NGC and apart from the kids birth years, I think I’ll stop at these and focus on building up bullion besides, 2022 has been a killer for limited funds to keep buying proof Sovs. For me, having only a limited collection slabbed provides some assurance they remain protected as intended, a proof struck coin.
  8. I think so if a) you like the set/design and b) can afford it.
  9. Anyone else noticed the added text; The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Coin range is only available to purchase until 31 December 2022. If they don't sell out the LE numbers maybe reduced...
  10. So day two, currently remaining... Quarter: 1,154 Half: 485 Sovereign: 3,926 3-Coin set: 20 Piedfort: 167 5 Sovereign BU Matte: 174
  11. Just had the email come through myself and was also about to post... "NGC adopted the Sheldon grading scale when it was established in 1987, and it remains the industry standard to this day." So why introduce NGCX... two options for grading isn't going to confuse anyone in the hobby going forward 🤔
  12. I'd be over the moon to own a 1989 1 Sov... one day, Lurrvly.
  13. Can't argue with that. My proof Sov focus - with very limited funds has been the birth years of the kids and trying to back fill the special years designs, 2022 has been a killer on the wallet. I'm hoping the 2023 Coronation Sov will be it for important dates/coins for a while so I can get back to bullion...
  14. I like the design and wanted the first KC III in my collection, as long as I don't have to sell anything these are being gifted to my kids. In that respect and meaning no disrespect, in a few years we maybe buying a new Kings first proof again.
  15. I managed a Piedfort and 1 Sov via dealer so was just browsing today, it means I have both 2022s in these formats. Chuffed to bits is an understatement as I thought I'd only afford one 2022 Sovereign proof this year - for **** sake don't tell the Mrs 🙈 Now to desperately start saving for the 2023 Coronation...
  16. ... and the fact I might be able to get enough together for another 😆
  17. I believe the crisis is impacting many who may have/would have bought these including flippers.
  18. I purchased a 2022 proof 1 Sov directly from RM on release day (arrived in Jan) and another again from RM in Dec as some became available again (arrived in Feb). Yes the 5, 4 and 3 sets flew out the doors compared to this release.
  19. I'd argue that it hasn't even been 24hrs - not a bad amount of product shifted... but yes, for the first Sovereign of King Charles III isn't a runaway success either 🤔
  20. Well, it's nearly 3pm and everything is still very much available to order... Either; the 'recession' has already bitten into spending power the buy now and receive within 12 weeks has knocked the stuffing out of the flippers, or the RM over-estimated demand Discuss...
  21. With the majority now sold, spot drops below £1500 again...
