  1. When clicking on 1847 Victoria Gothic Issue, you get the following: 😕 This site can’t be reached The web page at https://www.chards.co.uk/1847-victoria-gothic-silver-crown/7853 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
  2. It is a very nice coin. But I just can't convince myself to pay 11% premium for it when a Panda can be had for 3.5% premium. 🤔
  3. Four different designs to my knowledge - Young Head, Gothic Crown, Jubilee Head and Veiled Head. The Gothic Crown will cost an arm and a leg !
  4. Hello! Welcome to the forum. You are in the right place to discuss anything on precious metals.
  5. We have covered this before on another thread. I have used Robert Dyas Tableau Silver Dip to restore low silver coins and it works very well. Dip for 3-5 seconds (depending on how tarnished the coin is) then rinse with clean water. No rubbing so no scratches. Before: After:
  6. I don't know what all the fuss is about. All those american coins have a 180 degrees error in rotation and no one gets over excited about them.🙄
  7. Could it be that you're always the last to buy a round ? Hence, the label Chard is so cheap ! 😎
  8. I have been collecting for a few years before joining TSF. The bullion dealers I bought from were those based in London, Birmingham and outside of UK. Chards of Blackpool were not on my radar, even though they have an online presence through google search results. My preference before TSF were 1oz coins and I have not paid much attention to sovereigns before. But when members starts talking about them and seeing how liquid they are on the forum, it did influenced me to buy some. After a few searches, I decided to test the waters and placed an order for 15 sovereigns with Chards, a lesser known dealer to me at the time. I suspect by having a presence on TSF and being involved with discussions must have gained exposure and sales for Chards. 😎
  9. You are showing off your bargain hunting skills. This implies that I overpaid by £7.50 for my Thaler ! 🤔
  10. Those AliExpress prices in the UK are a real rip-off. I can get them on Taobao (Chinese version of AliExpress) for ¥5.8 or about 70p. These are genuine fakes. How many would you like ? 😎
  11. The members above have very much answered your question. So not much for me to add except to say welcome to the forum.
  12. These coins aren't rare. There are plenty for sale on ebay, currently selling for around £22-25. A while back, I managed to buy one on ebay for £9.50 posted 😎
  13. It depends on your entry point. If you had bought monster boxes costing £11-£12 per ounce then why wouldn't you be glad ? Just saying !
  14. Yes, quite. The Key to success. But let's not derail this thread any more.😁
  15. I have a yale for sale if you're interested.
  16. Hello! Welcome to the forum. There are plenty of collectors and stackers on the forum to discuss anything on precious metals.
  17. The only way to improve the quality of RM products is to outsource production to other mints abroad. I said it on another thread and I stand by it. 😎
  18. Hello! Welcome to the forum. You are in good company. There are plenty of knowledgeable and experience stackers on the forum to guide you along. Enjoy your journey into the world of precious metals.
