  1. I get up early 👍🏼 Yeah I take note of some of the more interesting fiat milestones but the weight is what I target too
  2. GBP down Vs dollar then gold = more expensive relatively. As @CANV says, when demand for dollars is higher it's a headwind for gold price.
  3. Sovs are CGT exempt currently. For bars though... Assuming you don't blow through the threshold already with the disposal of a few shares outside an ISA or maybe just taking a bit of profit on one of the investment properties. I bet there are people who started buying gold bars when price was below £1k an Oz only a few years ago 🤔 A few Oz and you're giving profit away 😬 https://www.gov.uk/capital-gains-tax/rates
  4. Purchase price usually what matters when calculating CGT liability
  5. Autumn budget today... Apparently Capital Gains Tax allowance to be reduced along with dividend allowance over the coming years Individual rate currently £12300 CGT allowance 2023-24 £6000 CGT allowance 2024-25 £3000 Worth having a read of the below summary. Incase the idea of capital gains tax is new to you in terms of our PMs the gold and silver coins with a £ face value like Britannias and sovereigns, Tudor beasts, Queens beasts etc are not currently liable for CGT anyway but should you make a profit when you dispose of many silver and gold bars, profit over this threshold would be liable. Ask your 'ccoun'nt 😏 https://www.which.co.uk/news/article/capital-gains-and-dividends-tax-changes-in-the-2022-autumn-statement-ac6kT0e7yZ4X
  6. I know a guy. If he's not too busy moving firewood this time of year
  7. Who is looking to get the tenth Oz coins from different countries still? One you don't see every day with a ship on it. https://atkinsonsbullion.com/pre-owned/gold/pre-owned-gold-coins/pre-owned-2021-cook-islands-bounty-1-10oz-gold-coi
  8. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195430898493 🤣
  9. Postie has just turned up with mine. ****ing hell that was quick.
  10. Haven't spotted many for sale. I think a member traded one recently for a QB 1 Oz but don't know the finer details. Have you seen them in stock anywhere?
  11. Slowly picking up the gold versions when I see them
  12. Few more pointless coins arrived that you can't even spend in the shops.
  13. Check them again could easily have become more dramatic since you last looked 😬
  14. Unfortunately I would guess it needs more copper adding to the alloy to give it that wonderful pink/ coppery colour 🙄😫
  15. Who's the cheapest for 1 oz gold Brits at the moment? Anywhere UK based cheaper than Tavex? 👀 https://tavexbullion.co.uk/gold/1-oz-britannia-gold-coin-2023/
  16. Short term perhaps dealers will get a bit of a surge. If it steadies there for a while there'll be enough about. Private market there's always unforseen circumstances and opportunities that motivate someone to sell but generally I'd expect a lot of people to hold what they have unless they need to sell. As opposed to if price bumps up a couple hundred £ an oz where people might be inclined to think about the profit they have if they were to sell despite not necessarily needing to sell
  17. Back up to 1.20s and we'd be back below £1300 an Oz on a constant gold price 👀
  18. Today's movement is only pound strength Vs dollar. Actual gold price is flat currently
