  1. Can’t remember if I’ve seen the thread, but I had the same issues last time around; let’s hope BBP continue to be an outlet? Did ask @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer as always found their service good but don’t think there was a response.
  2. In case you’re still waiting @SiCole and @Minted, pleasantly surprised to find them on the BBP website and no dearer than EMK without the hassle! https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/gold-coins/tenth-ounce-gold-coins/2023-tenth-ounce-gold-australian-kookaburra/
  3. To a casual collector of bullion sovereigns for mainly asset diversification like myself, it’s hard to keep track of what’s out there. Having decided to steer clear of proof collecting and divested what Proof’s I had to focus purely on bullion, whenever I log in and see news of new sovereigns, it plays havoc with my OCD trying to cover what’s there for date runs. One sovereign coin per year from 2024 please would be great for me. I love boring coins 🙂
  4. Cost £120 inc postage Bullion condition, some marks clearly on capsules in photos, happy to provide close ups of all best I can. Sigma tested. These older years are rarely sold, (I know because I started a date run 😂) selling as collecting other date pieces. Postage: U.K only Payment bank transfer please.
  5. # me too @Mtaybar @James32, @JamesH, @Solachesisand if I don’t sell them both, it will likely happen!!
  6. 2007 Westminster coins Diamond Wedding Anniversary Gold Sovereign presentation cover no 192 of 450. Cost £405 plus post. SOLD Shipping : UK only will combine and pay postage if bought with my other listed sovereign. Payment Bank Transfer please.
  7. 2005 Full Bullion Sovereign bullion condition, package unopened. Cost £415 plus post (will combine free post, if bought with my other listed sovereign). SOLD pending payment Benham released 250 of this Battle of Trafalgar commemorative edition. Can see through back it’s number 030. Shipping: U.K only RMSD Payment by bank transfer please. Will ship within 2 days following. Bought from well established forum member, selling as running out of space!
  8. They are ok, both my kids had accounts, then upgraded to student accounts with them, serve their purpose well. I’ve unfortunately a need to receive cheques, so Nationwide current account is great for me personally; otherwise I’d stick with them.
  9. Hey @ChrisSilver just for consideration, switched from First Direct to Nationwide, for the attractive interest rate on new current accounts. Be wary, its only for 12 months though and in this day and age Nationwide don’t have the facility to pay cheques in online. Why switch, well through no fault of my original bank, i felt compelled to following the data breach suffered by my local water company; some months after it happened; it was well publicised thousands of water customer accounts had bank details leaked on the dark web.😱 I’ll probably switch back after 12 months, due to the limitations, but the interest will pay for say membership here 😉
  10. Just something small, can’t ever remember seeing them come up here. 2020 1/10 Gold kookaburra, somewhat resigned to not getting a couple.
  11. Surprised it never sold since it was a unique edition by JULY CLARK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-royal-mint-queen-Elizabeth-2-memorial-half-sovereign-Gold-Proof-Coin/144955465483?mkcid=16&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Gli_ceRkT32&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=tX1yzNkzRB-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY&pageci=5f737322-7a2b-4518-a502-e208a58a0068&redirect=mobile
  12. Regularly look in on your site and a few others but a bit like @SiCole can never find a U.K dealer and have to run the customs gauntlet of being wrongly charged import tax to satisfy my craving for these.
  13. Yep and their service was as promised in their notification back.
  14. I’m not great with pictures but happy to keep the kids date runs going in all 3 of these. The last Kook with Liz on too. Thanks @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer Off to sort their boxes and find a few capsules.
  15. Sorry, can’t help you with that, never kept the receipts, that’s why I can’t recall what form or where I tried to claim from, just remember it being added hassle. Yeah, I’d bought a couple of things from the states and also seemed an age. That’s why I went for EMK first time, I bought direct from their online shop, as they were cheaper and had no hassle; this was definitely only a couple of months earlier. Second time I bought through their eBay shop which was about a tenner more each coin but seem to remember some offer linked with nectar, made them slightly cheaper; again can’t remember and just been trying to spot it but haven’t got the reason documenting it. There was logic to doing it that way, maybe though that caused the import hassle second time, just guessing really. edit: should add, you can see from my order date and despatch due date, there was no real delay with EMK, just paying customs charge prior to delivery by Royal Mail I think it was, in the U.K.
  16. Here is what I found just to show, VAT wasn’t added but the customs documents either through paperwork hassle as you said or just missed lapses, left me high and dry with customs having to pay and then try claiming back. Unfortunately, no U.K dealer was selling Gold Kook 1/10’s, EMK were the cheapest option and readily stocked; their service was otherwise fine.
  17. Last year I made a couple of gold purchases from EMK. The first was exactly as you describe, the second had VAT added, whilst I then had a bit of chore trying to claim back. You can’t argue with customs or you don’t get delivery, so you have to pay the charge, even if wrongly added on; then try claiming back. I’d bought 2 x 1/10 gold Kooks, unfortunately EMK didn’t make it obvious from memory what the consignment was, so hence, import VAT was charged by customs. Just a warning for others using EMK. They offer a good service but this was a pain.
  18. Yesterday opened my recent purchase from @BleyerBullion and my first Charlie boy coins, added a couple of 1/10’s to the kids collections as I’d got some credit left over.
  19. My first purchases this year, small angels from @James32 for the kids 1/10’s collections and keep grabbing Liz Sovereigns when I can, this time from @Orpster, turns out we’re almost neighbours! @Orpster refunded my postage by way of a pint down the pub with me (just dawned on me he could put up a picture of a pint of Guinness on the today i bought thread😂) Great guy to listen to, far more into coins than myself, so a real pleasure.

    Stopped using ebay

Bought from eBay in the past by looking sellers feedback and comments but now it’s pretty rare. As for selling, I think I’d rather get a lower offer from a dealer, than the potential hassle some scumbags are prepared to try and put you through. Since I’ve found TSF, not really bothered selling much on eBay for almost 2 years.

Used to buy odd coins from Snurkle, as some weekends she would do specials quite competitively compared to main dealers. She’s not been able to get competitive supplies though since Sept 2021. As @Bigmarc stated, Snurkle was limited to volume for tax thresholds and only found time at weekends from a Leeds shop or storage.. Shame really, as though an internet business, when nectar had offers, I remember buying a couple of kangaroo tubes through her eBay lists, which took the price down further due to nectar points.
  22. Everything you have just said is why I decided to stick with boring modern Bullion. My Sigma Pro has detected 2 fakes of my own and 3 for someone else, all Silver 1 Oz versions and not more than 30 years old. I’m yet to detect any inconsistencies with anything gold but feel confident the likes of “main” mint coins would show with my current version. It’s the limitations which keep me from being too adventurous but that’s fine for me, I’m not a true numismatic collector, just a boring stacker, with odd bits of variety thrown in. Which case the Sigma does the job.
