  1. Breaking up another couple of sets as I collect the 1oz, so today I have for sale: **OFFER** - take both 1/2 and all in I will do for £1,685 2008 1/2 - £850 - SOLD 👍 2008 1/4 - £450 - SOLD 👍 2008 1/10 - £190 - SOLD 👍 2009 1/2 - £850 - SOLD 👍 2009 1/4 - £450 - SOLD 👍 2009 1/10 - £190 - SOLD 👍 I'm selling these as bullion for simplicity. RMSD fully insured is included in the price. BT or PPF&F both fine. Thanks for looking 👍 @artalien@Spyder
  2. Can you tell us what you bought?
  3. Can we have a picture of the collection? maybe auction them on here or have a chat with @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions to see if there is more value than you expect?
  4. Think this one will be a swerve for me. Mediocre design and price point is very high to buy direct from the mint and deal with the usual QC issues.
  5. 1937 2sov PF 63 Ultra Cameo sold on the FB groups for 3.5k last week. RM historic stuff tends to be 150% -200% of fair price - the RM example you've shown there is probably 2.5-3k fair market value.
  6. Its certainly an aspirational price! Raw 2014 sets (ie the key year for Brits) trade for far less - eg £6500 +24% BP = £8060 at Sov Rarities auction 4. 2017 is not an in demand year so you'd expect it to trade more in line with other low demand 24k years (e.g. everything other than 14 and, to a smaller extent, 16). Auction results in the region of £3500-4500 would be my expectation for a set like and, and I wouldn't be surprised to see potentially lower in current market.
  7. I'll likely be popping along. Theres a bar/cafe area with plenty of seating just by the entrance to the coin fair which might suit?
  8. You can always ask for more and see where you get?! The 2001 bullions are not common, but equally not rare and they do come up for sale with reasonable regularity so the premium isn't crazy like some of the privy designs end up commanding. The coins are also 0.958 silver which doesn't appeal to some stackers who like the modern 999 bullion versions. Some of the sold prices on Ebay do look very steep - but equally there are probably some collectors who are backfilling sets and just check Ebay and pay whatever is being asked for on the 'buy it now' listings etc.
  9. 2001 is a lovely design - my favourite! The older bullion Brits do command a bit of a premium - I sold one of the 2001 bullion brits from my collection a week or two back on here for £32. The proofs go for a bit more, maybe £85-90 area. Ebay is the wild west - just depends on how much selling risk you want to take! if you can get £30 -32 each for them on here than I think its a fair price and you're not having to pay Ebay fees either.
  10. Afraid they will see nothing wrong with this - its a bullion product and they come flying off a machine in to a hopper at the rate of hundreds an hour. Quality is a bit rubbish on it but the Royal Mint's view will be that you go what you paid for - 2 sovs worth of gold. It has virtually no nuimismatic value - just stick in in the stack and see it as weight.
  11. If this were my coin, I would probably give this a go and see how conservation does. The line between 69 and 70 is ridiculously fine (and very subjective).
  12. @JeremyzedI wouldn't be too worried about the rim or the bit just above the M. The bit next to the lion looks a bit more prominent but it is impossible to tell what the issue is from he pic - if it is a crater on the surface of the coin it could reduce eye appeal and potentially knock you down a grade but its all super subjective at NGC. Is the imperfection very apparent to the naked eye? Do remember that PF69 if essentially judged as no imperfections visible to the naked eye, and PF70 is only at 5x magnification whereas these look a lot more zoomed in that that.
  13. I don’t tend to grade many silver coins so not much experience of how effective NGC conservation is for them. Silver does to to have a lot more issues too around toning and milk spotting.
  14. That looks like some sort of residue on the mirror surface which Conservation may be able to assist with. It will also improve the eye appeal as the surface looks a bit dusty too. Nothing is guaranteed though - if you're not happy then send it back to the mint, but I would personally gamble on NCS with that one.
  15. Missing frosting on the 2? Ive had a few issues with mine as well. Sent it back Sadly a poor quality one for me - scratches on reverse and large chunks of missing frosting on neck and rim. Back it goes!
  16. Welcome! Yes, the membership is worth it - maybe try the silver for 1 month and see how it goes for you.The best trade deals will go in minutes and are not visible to non premium members until a few days post listing. Safety is down to you - there is a reputation system and, if you stick to established members with a track record, you're likely to be safe but make sure you do your own due diligence. Take a bit of time to research and have a think before piling in - silver comes at a high premium at the moment and new silver incurs VAT so its very easy to end up 20% down on day one without even trying too hard! Gold, especially bullion gold bought at a sensible premium is (in my view) a far safer place to start whilst you find your feet - maybe half or full sovereigns?
  17. Dispatch from the mint on 17th-19th was what I was told
  18. Pretty much, they were about 12-13k as I remember so a chunky mark up on eBay there! Hopefully not too many sell as the mint is already doing so many sizes and styles for each coin that the market already seems to be choking on the volume!
  19. They were a special set marketed to the Platinum / Platinum+ mint marque members - tiny mintage and I don't think the plan is for them to become a regular fixture, just a curiosity (and an expensive one at that) but certainly will be a rarity for this rather historic year. Note they are pattern proofs so not technically legal tender (is my understanding anyway).
  20. That auction isn't really comparable - it was all weird die trials so everything is a one-off and bidding was astronomical on some coins. You can see every coin is hall marked as they are not officially 'coins' - just curious rarities
  21. This pics below are my 2014 PF70 - I just thought it might be useful for you to compare as a baseline and see if it shares any similarities with the 'missing die spots' on the one you graded.
  22. Did you opt for conservation as well? I’d be tempted to (ultra carefully) remove from the slab and resubmit with conservation to see if you get lucky and manage to upgrade from 69 to 70. It’s worth bearing in mind 69 is a great grade - perfect to the naked eye. A 70 is ‘no imperfections visible unde 5x magnification’. lovely set!
