2024 Britannias - Fractional

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys - as a lover of fractional silver, I've been waiting for this opportunity for what feels like a lifetime.

Anyone else likely to pick up a tube of 1/4's or 1/10's? Do their premiums carry forwards, or am I wasting my money?

I Can see they're at Atkinsons and Bleyers, with bleyers being the cheapest that I can find. Anyone found a cheaper dealer? Will the RM be cheaper when they finally announce them on their site?

Thanks!

@theman73 had some fractional arks the other day, and I've seen @Gordy flogging fractional Brits at one point.  They might have something.

IMO silver less than 1oz tends not to be terribly cost effective for stacking, more for gifts or novelty items really.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

As @Silverlockshas mentioned, less than 1oz of silver isn’t really a very cost effective way of stacking silver, however, always nice to have something different, i have purchased the odd one or two in the past myself. Whether you want to go as far as buying tubes of them is up to you. Currently Atkinsons is cheaper as they don’t charge for postage.🤔🫢

I was excited to see them on the dealers websites too, but looking at the price I cannot justify buying tubes. Looking at one online dealer who is selling a tube of 16 1/10th silver brits at £89.47 at the time of writing this post, which is about 48grams of silver, so at 63p a gram that is just over 30 quids worth of silver.  So that's nearly 60 quid lost. That is from the VAT as well of course. But for me the premiums are way too high.

I might buy a few coins just for my hobby of collecting coins, but as an investment it is a bad call. Just my thoughts on it.

I'll be getting some, so if you only want a small layout watch out for my listing

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

what do you mean?

If I go and order 20 coins, will any dealer ship me one single tube?

The RM are advertising 19 coin tubes and 20 coin tubes

Just picked up a whole tubes worth of the quarter oz silver britannias. They are yet to arrive by mail as the weekend means it won't dispatch yet. Grabbed myself a 2023 bullion half sovereign as well.

It seems good to have fractional silver as well as fractional gold, saves having to break down larger coins when you don't want to.
