Dented Bullion Memorial Double Sovereign from Royal Mint

Recommended Posts

I have received a bullion memorial double sovereign from the Royal Mint and it has a slight dent in it.

When I say 'slight', it's too small to photograph and isn't visible when held at certain angles.

But it did come in a capsule, and it is sold by the RM exclusively...

Should I return it?

My inability to photograph it relates to the quality of my camera rather than the noticeability of the dent. I think I've managed to capture the dent's glint now...

Can we see

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

I'll try and get a photo, but it's definitely a dent - I've looked at it through one of those eyeglasses like what David Dickinson uses and everything.

I'm not disputing the damage, just trying to ascertain if it falls under the "bullion" banner or is unacceptable.

I thought your last 2 photos of the Tutankhamen coin on January 10th were superb…..Give it a go!

@James32 is just asking the questions the mint will ask if you try and ask for a return. To them bullion is bullion and dent or not it’s still that weight of gold.
Now everyone knows we pay much more than spot for these coins but they want a strong reason to swap a bullion coin. Without photo proof they most likely won’t even take it back even to check.

Aaaahhh😉

You asked a similar question back in July, did you send that coin back and receive a replacement?

It's a different coin (coronation vs memorial) but the OP has the same problem.

I'm suggesting that he may know the answer to his own question.
