1/4 to 1/2 Britannias and Kangaroos. Britannias have the security features and Kangaroos give you future collector's premiums.

Brits also CGT free - maybe become very pertinent should your stack be sold in future at a decent profit level - CGT thresholds are halving under the new 2023/4 legislation.

Sovereigns is the correct answer but if we are honest

graded Pf70  £5/five sovereigns and 2oz golds are so much more fun to fondle

I think most of us like to have a little fondle 🤣 but I find showcase coins tend not to "" fit in " and I usually regret buying them and generally move them on , I include US coins , 20 Francs , etc in my case.  Its daft as gold is gold but personally I just stick with sovereigns today..

I’d say just full sovereigns. You can sell 100 in a day or two, easy. But I bet it would be harder to sell 100 1/4 coins. I think the problem is they are all recent years so no one cares about the dates. If you build up a large number of sovereigns with different years, people will buy all the dates they don’t have.
