Refusing to buy a certain type of coin?

Just a quick pander?

I for some reason, a reason i do not know, i refuse to buy anything American. I dont think i have any dislike towards America are americans, a few of my best mates from Thailand are yanks. I just for some reason dont like any of it, even not biding on good ebay job lots (8-12 oz) because there was an eagle in there. I just thought that was abit strange

I can understand people dont liking certain mints cause of milking are scratch's on coins but i was wondering if you have a mint are country to never buy from are even go out of your way to avoid.

I'm starting to seriously consider giving up on the Royal Mint,  I started collecting the Lunar Proofs but having seen how badly the bullion coins like the Lunars and the Queens Beasts are spotting I'm concerned about them remaining unblemished and lasting the pace to when they will make a decent return.

Not even for £12.22?

Not keen on Britannia's what?

I wont ever buy a Philharmonic Coin as imo they are the ugliest coin going.

Up until the Royal Mint changed from Britannia silver alloy to fine silver, the Brits were lovely coins but the 999 fine silver coins are crap in my opinion.
I do kind of like like ASEs as bullion however as they seem pretty durable and don't show up all the scuffs, scratches and marks polished coins do.
I also share the comment about the Phillies - pretty ugly coin ( more akin to a round ) and I don't like coins with smooth edges - a coin should be reeded - but that's personal.

just shows  everyone likes different things and that's great.

don't like ASE (well I like the one I own but but more ) , they aren't the cheapest, the are not CGT exempt( i know im unlikely to Care) and I'm not keen on any goin where the design doesn't change , so I'm with you on phillies(again in have one maybe two)

Agree with the phillies aswel. I actually like the maple, I know most of mine have spotted! Lol but it was the first 1 oz coin I ever bought so I decided to get a complete date run and I will continue getting one each year even tho I know that they will spot too!

There is always something pleasing in holding a pure silver ( or gold ) coin knowing that this pure element, created in the stars of some far away galaxy, is yours.

The current Britannia and many other fine coins are 0.999 silver meaning only 1 part in a thousand is contaminant.
The Canadian Maple is 0.9999 so 10 times purer still then there is one of my favourites - the Royal Silver Company extra fine round which is 0.99999 silver so 100 times more refined than even a fine silver Britannia.

Don't mind ASEs, have a few in my stack, but they are not the most inspiring design ever. Much prefer Libertads, which are unsurpassed for beauty.

That said, I think the head-on design on the American Gold Eagle is stunning.

I try not to get too emotionally attached to any particular coin. At the end of the day I don't care if there's a bird, panda, or 7-eyed alien on the design if I think it provides reasonable risk/reward premium profile. I can appreciate an aesthetically pleasing coin, but won't go out of my way to buy if it I think its overpriced or too risky.

Libertads are really nice coins, they flip (reverse design) the same way as eagles. Everyone seems to like them. I heard they produce 1 million a year, seems low.

I like the philharmonics they are a no nonsense coin if you have any you want to sell message me with your offer please? I like music so the instruments on one side and great Organ on the obverse makes a nice coin. unlike the new Britannia bullion coin that is very poor unlike the older very well made Britannia coins that were made with Britannia silver made to a higher standard, in fact IMO the new coins should not be able to be called Britannia because they are so poor and are not made with Britannia silver.

Yeah, I got quite a lot of philharmonic, mainly because they were cheap to stack and fulfil my high-liquidity requirements. No problems at all with getting more. Don't mind the smooth edge either, in fact I think it makes it a bit different and differentiates it from everything else. Reeded edges are meant to guard against clipping, but let's face it if you have a clipped coin you are going to notice, reeded or otherwise.

I pretty much only buy royal mint bullion but only to keep date runs going. So i have basically given up on them also because britannia's were the corner stone of my stack and now i buy more ozzy stuff. l do like there stuff tough, i like brits, queens beasts and i even like the lunar series which alot of people dont like. The premium is pretty high on these and your buying them knowing they are going to prob milk up a few years down the line.

I stock a number of silver coins and from my experience the 1oz silver Philharmonic is the worst seller (over a number of years).  So it is true that people do that their preferences and dislikes.

On a personal note, I am not keen on the Royal Canadian Mint products at the moment.  I am experiencing a lot of rim damaged coins, and the RCM blasé attitude to the milk spotting issue is terrible.
