Hello from new a member

Hi everyone, thanks for having me.

I'm very new to investing in anything really, but I thought it was time to start. After seeing some people (quite close to me) have their pensions decimated and struggling in their retirement, I've decided I should diversify a bit. The plan is to keep my current pension going but stack gold/silver at the same time as a bit of insurance. I'm looking to hold for the long term (20+ years) so won't be chasing market fluctuations. Instead I'll just buy what I can afford monthly. I figure over 20 years all the peaks and troughs will hopefully average out! And I'll be left with a decent stack to buy some retirement toys and help the family out when needed

I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who are doing the same thing. Just with a headstart on me!

I've been meaning to start investing for years, but children came along and I took a big pay cut to change career so it never felt like the right time. However now we are a bit more settled so now is the time to start!
