Best way I can descibe them is they are little translucent drops (like glue) sitting on the surface of the coin.

I love an honest photo but still think ultra magnification makes these look worse than they are. Unseen (ie, not yet in hand) SOTD Sovs are selling for at least £1400 on eBay that will likely be in similar condition (bit better/bit worse) and once a collector buys they disappear from the market, leaving fewer available for resale
