US Mint: 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollar Two-Coin Reverse Proof Set.

Recommended Posts

The 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollar Two-Coin Reverse Proof Set enrollment is open now on the US Mint website.

I reserved 3 sets (will be gifting 2 sets and keeping one). I think the "reverse proof" finish will look stunning on the Morgan and Peace Dollar (new finish and will not be repeated), and I think the enrollment phase would be sold out soon.

I wish the Royal Mint would do a product schedule like the US Mint does, instead of guessing from the Proclamations at https://www.thegazette.co.uk/all-notices/notice?noticetypes=1101.  I am hoping that their enrollment program works out since I think it will be better than the mad rush that the coin is released and the web site can't handle the load and people miss out on getting the coin they wanted.

I attached a screenshot of how the enrollment program works.

Can you share your thoughts about why this takes the fun of collecting non-circulating coins?

Hopefully the mint doesn't manage to mess this release up, as I cannot envision these coins NOT being an absolute treat for the eyes... However I have long since learned the err in getting too hopeful with regard to those making the big decisions.

We were supposed to have Morgan/Peace dollars this year, but a supposed planchet shortage held back perhaps the most desirable release out of the U.S.  Funny how that works however, when that same planchet shortage somehow didn't impede several other releases that use planchets of the same size... 🥱

Jumping in this topic.  Luckily I'm in the game now and have subscriptions for all 3 Proofs.

I missed out on the centennial 2021 uncirculated versions, but I'm very happy to have all 3 of the first Proof options.

Proofs are my area of interest anyways, so this worked out better for me overall.
