I am going for a complete guess here and saying RM are struggling to mint this design without any issues - think we saw it with Una and the Lion as well in which they produced a number of problem coins/strikes.

however frustrating the issues are, the clean sovereign I have seen looks very good in hand; it’s a fantastic design
