Am I missing something special with this coin?

Just looking at BBP and they are selling the 2020 britannia for £43.44 ea????

😳😳

Interesting - Chards are on £32.52 (Special VAT scheme) so a healthy premium over 2021's - I have a lot of 2020's long ago just put into the bowels of storage - maybe it's connected to being the last before the new security ones?

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.

Ah, but who’s buying at that price? From what I’ve seen, as a Newbie, on TSF bullion ranges from £20-£25/ounce dependant on quantity and make. A spot price of £40 something is where you need to be to break even, if selling to dealers. I do hope to live that long but can’t see it anytime soon.

As an aside, I have to confess that I have purchased Royal mint £20, £50 and£100 “ legal tender” coins of varying forms and know I will never see a return on any of them at £40/ounce. Caveat emptor and hindsight 20/20 from this old fool.
