@muneeb If you’re looking for a 1918 sovereign in MS grade, you could always look to buy one already graded by PCGS or NGC.

There are plenty around already graded or put a ‘want’ post in the Buy & Sell section of the forum.

Thank you for that. How much do they usually go for?

You may wish to invest a little of your own time by searching through the relevant UK ungraded sales items, maybe by searching the forum using George V Sovereign first, then looking only at results within the sold items.

Thank you for your help. I’ve been doing

that too, but get confused with the different conditions and grading etc.  For the same sovereign I get given different prices by people selling such as for a 2013 Bombay I got offered £509.

Understood - I'm not convinced the 2 sets of images you have shown to date meet the MS criteria - quite.

From a dealer, you may have to pay close to the £500, but if you bide your time and temper your grade expectations a little, one could well pop up here at a saving of ~ £100+

It would definitely be better to buy one in MS (Mint State), rather than the one shown in the photographs! 😎
