I snagged lot #88 1/4 Britannia 2005 pcgs 69 for £450  not a super bargain :( but  more gold for the stack :) and not wiped the current account out :)

That’s a good snag! Andreas blogged a while ago about how the 69s are the hidden treasures. A good move to take them whilst everyone fights over the 70s!!

"Gems in the rough" is a good phrase. Put a 69 and 70 side by side I can't tell any difference. Hopefully will pay dividends in years to come :)

@LeonmarshThe CC will likely send the invoice to you tomorrow. Watch out for emails and keep an eye on the junk folder!! You then bank transfer the amount using the invoice number as the reference. They will then send out by courier and will likely be with you by Weds - very slick service. The only time there has even been a longer time scale was when there was a bank holiday.....

Cheers!

I don’t normally ‘reveal’ but on this occasion I will. I’m the crazy old coin fool who spent £55 on the silver half dime! Very happy with it. A nice VF30 for the collection. Will look to  submit for conservation and regrading as it’s an old slab and who knows it could get a 31 🤣......

Fist purchase ever on coin cabinet how do I pay?

I placed a pre-bid on this very coin so congrats on your win! 🙂

It looks to be in nice condition so I hope you'll like it! The final price seems fair to me. I just did not want it that much and simply decided to wait for another opportunity...

I bought a sovereign and I still think I’ve slightly over paid. 😬

Its the most I’ve ever paid for a sovereign. But I’m hoping it’s numismatic value and the fact I intend to keep it for at least 20+ years is in my favour.

No, it wasn’t a 1920 Sydney mint. My pockets aren’t that deep. 😆
