middle top row.

also the one on the left of the edge on photo looks too big (diameter) although it could be the angle of lean

Diameters are the same, but it's that one, the 1909. Middle top row is real. On the edge photo it's the one that has the darkest rim.

Probably I wouldn't have noticed at all.

To me, the bottom left (1907[?]) looked quite suspicious, color-wise. The 1909 has a strange rim/edge, so this should probably give it away.

It would if you had some to compare with - if you look at the coin in isolation, it looks OK. I have handled 100s and this one just set off an alarm bell, I dont know why - I wouldnt have tested it otherwise. Thats why I was happy to own it, its a pretty good forgery in my opinion.

Yes sometimes you just feel it's wrong.

However, I have a JH half that I would swear is real but is actually slightly too big, diameter wise, and the weight is correct. It came from a source that tests by XRF so I know it's the correct alloy. It must by logic then, be slightly thinner than it should be but this aspect is difficult to measure.

Fun fact - XRFs can be conned as they dont go deep enough.

Some silver European "clad" i.e thick layer coins that are only 0.640 or 0.720 fine will pass as sterling on XRF. If you want to try it out, buy a couple of European coins with this make up and XRF them.

True, but in general with gold, if it tests as correct on XRF and is the right size and weight, it's good.

One thing I have never been clear on; is it possible to plate a coin with 22ct gold so that it will fool a XRF test? It woild need to be very accurate as the test and consistency of sovereigns is.

Tungsten core and 2mill of gold might do it. Need a physicist to work out. If silver passes I am sure people smarter than I have tried with gold.

The Kennedy 40% 50 Cent Coin weighs the same as a 90% - but both XRF at 85% :(

The 40% Kennedy core has less than 20% silver, most of its silver is on the surface. They are fairly thin coins...

That’s a (good) fake

Yeah. Most people don't believe me first time round. But there are these calibre of fakes in the market, and even unknowingly sold as genuine to people. I wonder what the scale of these exist in the market.

This is a way to get a free interest loan for 7 days. PayPal funds clear straight away and you can have your payday loan.

Actually quite a good way of getting a few thousand quid for a few weeks. Quite scary really!
