  1. Hello Forum, Following on from the success of my 2 previous import runs a number of members have asked if I will be doing anymore so I am proposing to do a third import run of 10 units. I would be importing PMV bullion sets. The bullion set includes the precious metal verifier unit as well as the small, large and bullion wands this allows you to test specimens from 1/10oz to 10oz. The sigma can check through plastic capsules, slabs and assay cards it also works on a number of precious metals including silver, gold and platinum as well as their alloys. The units come with a carrying pouch as well as a charger, charging cable, user manual, base unit, 3 wands and calibration disk. More information can be found on the sigma website here https://www.sigmametalytics.com/original The price will be circa £910 delivered to your door via insured and tracked postage. This price could fluctuate due to the currency markets as I purchase these in USD. The estimated delivery would be in the middle of May If you would like to put your name down for a unit please PM me. If I do not get the required number of people then this won't go ahead. Due to sales topics locking after 30 days, I will post updates on the below thread should the import run go ahead.
  2. Due to the locking of trade topics after 30 days, this is where updates will be posted regarding the potential 3rd import run of the sigma PMV's
  3. Just a quick update everyone. THEY ARE HERE!!!!! Will be sending out PM's to everyone with regard to payment etc.
  4. Good news everyone they have finally cleared customs! UPS are requesting customs charges be paid that I already paid them in advance last week (honestly this is the most disorganised company ever!). Just trying to get this sorted have to call them back tomorrow. All being well they should arrive in my hands this week!
  5. Managed to make contact with someone at UPS. The machines are with customs awaiting release. I have asked UPS to chase but it's a bit of a waiting game at the moment unfortunately. Will update when I know more.
  6. Well ladies and gents UPS are absolutely useless. Package has been sat at Castle Donington for almost a week now. Have escalated things with UPS to find out why and what is going on. Should recieve an update in 24 hours but I am not holding my breath will update you all as soon as I know more. They seem unresponsive to emails and when you call them up you get a call centre based over sears. This is turning into some kinda of saga previous shipments had no issues with but this one is a different story.
  7. Customs are taking their sweet ass time. Will be back onto UPS tomorrow when they open and should have an update soon. Sorry for the delay everyone!
  8. Another quick update. The units have arrived in the UK and are currently awaiting customs clearance fingers crossed they clear customs tomorrow and so arrive in my hands Friday. Appologise for the delay it looks like some paperwork wasn't filled in correctly by Sigma and so that has delayed matters some what.
  9. Just a quick update for everyone the remaining units have been dispatched from America they are looking to arrive at the middle of next week all being well. Once in hand and checked over I will make contact with everyone with regards to payment and delivery info.
  10. You are on the list Charlie just some other people were a little quicker. The remaining units are expected at the start of March I will be making contact with everyone this week to make them aware of the delivery date as not everyone follows this 2nd thread. Fingers crossed you get the results you are looking for!
  11. Time for another update. The first batch of units has been dispatched from America estimated delivery is apprently Thursday. Will start contacting people in the middle of next week regarding payment and delivery etc. Second batch is going to be dispatched around the end of the month so should be here at the start of March. Appolgise for the delay this is how Sigma describe themselves " Sigma Metalytics is a family owned and operated business based in Chico, California, founded in 2013. We take pride in the fact that our components are sourced from the U.S.A. and each of our units is hand-built to order right here in our Chico factory. We’re not a big tech company that can always overnight your order, but our engineers take the time to build, calibrate, and test each Precious Metal Verifier by hand to ensure they are the finest quality and have the highest accuracy. "
  12. On the whole I have semi positive experiences with Royal Mail. I do think that when things go wrong, they go wrong in a massive fashion. I am not sure that Royal Mail will last long to be honest they seem to be haemorrhaging business to courier firms such as DPD and the other established brands. I think they really need to innovate and offer services on a weekend certainly later opening hours as the local collection office feels like it is open once in a blue moon and even then, only when the planets align. Also when they are struggleing to deliver their flag ship service of special delivery it really is a sorry state of affairs.
  13. Hello All, Due to the 30 day locking period of for sales topics I will be posting updates here was this should last forever. The current state of play is as follows: 10 units are arriving in mid Feb these will be offered to the first 10 people who contacted me putting their name down for one The rest of the units will arrive at the end of Feb and I will then contact the remaining people for payment
  14. I would agree that it looks like they have been coded a Subheading 970531 - Collections and collectors' pieces of numismatic interest https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/subheadings/9705310000-10
  15. You will have to first pay postage. There then would probably be a handling fee from your postage provider and then there would be VAT @ 20% If you bring them with you on a plane I would assume you will have to declare them when you enter the UK. Just with VAT alone they would be circa £27 each when you factor in postage probabaly more like £28-£29 you can often find silver for sale in the buy/sell section of the forum for less than that.
  16. https://www.northamericanbancard.com/blog/ach-vs-eft-what-s-the-difference This may be of interest Also in the future might be worth looking at using wise or revolut when sending funds abroad
  17. Welcome to the Forum. With regards to postage only special delivery is insured by royal mail. It can be expensive and so on smaller orders I tend to opt for 1st signed for. With regards to avoiding scams I would suggest that you purchase on the forums buy and sell section or from an established coin dealer. I would never buy anything from eBay or facebook etc. Also some type of varification devices to measure the coins you recieve are what you are looking for. This could be accurate scales and calipers or something more advanced like the sigma precious metal varifier. With regards to payment most are done using bank transfer or paypal. Some people accept crypto aswell
  18. I think you have to look at gold as a long term (15+) year store of wealth. Looking at the charts: 25 years ago gold was around £175 an oz. Using the Bank of England inflation calculator £175 in 1998 is now worth £311 today however an oz of gold is £1476 at the moment 15 years ago gold was around £400 an oz. Using the Bank of England inflation calculator £400 in 2007 is now worth £620 today however an oz of gold is £1476 at the moment 10 years ago gold was around £1019 an oz. Using the Bank of England inflation calculator £1019 in 2007 is now worth £1344 today however an oz of gold is £1476 at the moment 5 years ago gold was around £940 an oz. Using the Bank of England inflation calculator £940 in 2007 is now worth £1152 today however an oz of gold is £1476 at the moment In all of the above gold has performed well. I appreciate that this is a little brute force and not as elegant as I would like but I think it illustrates the point well enough. Like everything gold does have some periods where the price does drop but these seem to be temporary and that the price recovers. One way is to buy little and often although there are higher premiums on the smaller bars this can help iron out market fluctuations. Also, it is advisable to not have all your monies stored in precious metals. I am a big advocate for keeping at least 3 ideally 6 to 9 or even 12 months’ worth of your expenditure stored as cash. This cash would be stored under your mattress or in a high interest savings account. This way if the market was to crash you are not having to sell for PM's potentially at the bottom of the market (with others) and can ride it out for a little longer. What I mean by expenditure is the minimum amount you need to pay your mortgage/rent, utility bills, loan repayment (if any), food, things like that the absolute essentials! With regards to stocks in my opinion it is essentially gambling I am a person who does enjoy a wager on the turn of a card or that delicious roulette wheel. That being said in my opinion ETFs are the way to go as a way to spread risk across the whole market and not just the fortunes of a single or small handful of companies. This is just my opinion and your priorities may be different
  19. Be careful then buying from abroad the import charges, vat and handeling fees can be rough
  20. What is the name of the forum founder?.... Chris?
