  1. Hello and welcome to the forum. The best time to start was yesterday and the 2nd best time to start is today so you spot on with your timing. When it comes to buying silver the best place is the buy/sell section on the forum you can find silver for a lot less than the Royal Mint, Bullion Buy Post and the other main dealers. There is a trading feedback system on the forum so you can be sure you are buying from a decent person that is respected on the forum. A "premium" membership soon saves you money as you can see the sales topics as soon as they are listed and the best priced stuff sells in minutes. Just as a disclaimer I am not affiliated with the forum in anyway and do not get any kind of "kick back" from recommending permium membership just an active member who highly recommends it. There is a wealth of knowledge on here and people are more than happy to help eachother out. One interesting thing about holding physical precious metals is that you can actually well hold them or hold them through their little plastic prisons. Stocks and shares are well numbers on a screen.
  2. I fully agree some of the coins are amazing looking even the regular bullion coins are very nice. I had the same idea of going around the world in 1oz silver coins Krugerrands are my personal favourite and I hope to own a gold 1oz one day.
  3. eBay is an utter cess pool. I recently purchased a couple of items that turned out to be fake. An absolute palava getting my money back. Not using it again for PM related items
  4. Welcome to the forum that is quite a nice goal to have. I am doing the same for my Niece but with sovs. (Wish I could afford a full oz)
  5. It is good that you are starting young I think everyone wishes they started buying earlier in life. The best place to buy is on the for sale area on the forum you will find prices much lower than main dealers. If you want pure silver weight you can buy spotted or toned coins cheaper than shiny ones. Pouring your own silver does look very interesting and you can buy casting grain often at a lower price than coins.
