  1. it’s been cancelled. Will be partaking of the Potters though.
  2. I take it everybody else’s post person is also on strike, given the lack of action today.
  3. Ah, was thinking of getting a second, but I guess not.
  4. The mintage on the reverse proof sets has halved to 500, was 1000 for the panther, not sure about the Lion. Seems like the logical choice to me.
  5. You know you have too much gold when..... Not received today, but as good as. When putting away some coins returned from NGC, I discovered to my surprise, that I own this coin. No recollection of buying it, or putting it away. No record of it in my spreadsheet or NGC Registry. Happy days (probably shouldn't be quite so happy about the not remembering part).
  6. I agree that there is an element of this, but I maybe slightly more relaxed about it than you. 😀 There is intelligent discussion of potential return on those groups, based on past performance etc, as well as people talking their book, as it were. My issue is that although it's undeniably true that the 2017 Piedfort, for example, has not performed as well in the secondary market as the proof, a 70 still routinely sells for 25-30% above RRP, which is not to be sniffed at. A raw or PF69 will likely get you your money back. I guess this is not sufficient to make a living, which leads to some of the glumness on the groups.
  7. This is certainly true, but negative sentiment among the 'influencers' also plays a part. There was barely a positive comment on the Facebook groups yesterday, particularly in relation to the Piedfort. I've no particular reason to trust their judgement over my own, so bought one anyway.
  8. 3 'in stock', it then switches to available to order.
  9. I think they've managed to improve the queueing and buying process. On the last two occasions I've queued, I've got in pretty much straight away and the checkout has been much smoother than previously.
  10. Wow - straight in at 9:01. Got a Piedfort, shipping late September.
  11. I'm curious to see what happens next time I list something - it seems entirely random at the moment.
  12. I think you're right that this is an eBay policy / error. They appear to have decided that silver coins should have 20% VAT added regardless. Hopefully, as @BullionBuyerUKsuggests, they may be in the process of correcting it.
  13. Over the last two weeks I’ve noticed an increasing number of silver bullion and junk silver coin items on eBay UK, from UK based sellers, are now subject to an additional 20% VAT. I’ve been buying and selling silver coins on eBay since 2010 and I’ve never seen it before. I’m hoping it’s a temporary glitch due to a dodgy listing template or something, but suspect not. Basically, very bad news for anybody selling.
  14. Will make a nice Xmas present - still waiting for the 1st coin, ordered on 31st May.
  15. Yes, there seem to be too many options on the 'Colours of Rum' front.
  16. A bit steep, but Samaroli are one of the higher end independent bottlers.
  17. Mostly NGC graded Royal Mint 1/4 oz proof gold coins - not bought at Royal Mint prices.
  18. Mine did this too - had to confirm with Account Manager that the orders had been processed and still not had confirmation e-mail.
  19. I suppose I meant that however they're described, they're inevitably going to reflect modern practice. That's a beauty!
  20. Devil's advocate, but aren't these supposed to be modern representations of old portraits? This is what the strike on a lot of modern coins looks like.
