  8. There is a different between those two settings. The first 22k setting is for copper as balance metal, and Britannia 90-12 is both copper and silver used as balance metal. Therefore, the resistivity would be different. The Sigma is mainly for that you know the alloy and composition then check if it is what it says, not the other way around. XRF needs to be used if the alloy is not sure or the alloy is not set up within the Sigma. However, one problem with XRF is that it cannot penetrate deep enough into the alloy if it is heavily plated.
  9. These probably can help to tell the difference .
  10. Within that area most jewellery shops and dealers are located on a street called Hatton Garden, and streets adjacent to it. Most shops over there buy in precious metals, but names like Hatton Garden Metals, Baird & Co., Presman etc more known to people. If it is near to Saffron Hill, it is likely to be Hatton Garden Metals. It is on the St Cross Street, between Saffron Hill and Hatton Garden. Most dealers or jewellery shops over there only offer below spot price when they buy in, so you will get better deal here if listed on the forum. If you don’t like selling through post, there are a few members based in London. Collect in person is a choice if you would consider.
  11. @LawrenceChardYes I just realised that too that 2017 version of 1967 dated krugerrand has mint mark on the obverse as well.😅
  12. Is that ‘ Nothing special on the obverse’ then? 😂 The obverse is always the portrait of Paul Kruger. The special mintmark is always on the reverse side.
  13. I was lucky to see one of these 2020 2oz gold proof Krugerrand a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it didn’t have COA. Before that I even didn’t know the 2oz size exists😅. It is a beautiful coin! @LawrenceChard is that ‘deliberate error’ a typo for ‘and’? 😂

    Spot price

If selling back to dealers, typically it is 2-3% below spot.
  15. Yes that I can understand. It is just terrible. Drop me a line if you want to, I am all ears 😂. Also I am not too far away from these two dealers, and visited both before. If you want to know more, just let me know.
  16. Well, that is one possibility 😂. But just imagine when you walk on the street in Hatton Garden, lots people will look suspicious 🤣.
  17. Both ATS bullion and Sharps Pixley are online. Most dealers nowadays have a online shop. You also can buy online and pick up from their physical stores in person.
  18. The dealers are obliged to do so because of the Money Laundering Registration and HMRC as well. They should only gather and keep on file this information themselves, and only report if the transaction is suspicious.
  19. Nothing wrong to ask that question. Just be frank that you are first time buyer and wanted to be certain. In fact, most dealers are friendly and helpful, including both ATS bullion and Sharps Pixley. Or you could try Bairds & Co., or Hatton Garden Metals. Also, just bear in mind that if you buy from these dealers and over certain amount of money, they will require you to provide some proof of identification and address first.

    Alarm bells

The seller did mention in description that the lot ‘includes four restrikes / facsimiles’, which in another word means - fake. He did say that in other listings as well.
  21. Exact 120 days to Christmas 😉
  22. No it is not real. It is a fake. And it is just a PCCB slab, not slabbed by NGC.🤣🤣🤣
