A booklet from Baldwins. I've been managing with the online version for a while but it's always better having a paper copy in hand.
@Spyder 👍

Wasn’t this a thread about the car dealer at one point? 😊

I’m the opposite. I always carry cash on me. Then again I don’t live in London and my chances of encountering some knife wielding robber who’s twice the size of me is significantly reduced where I live.
Cash is very handy in case of emergencies, such as when the payments systems crash in the supermarkets or wherever. All those shoppers who rely 100% on their cards having to abandon their purchases and make a mad dash to join the long queue at the nearest cash machine, hoping that it will still payout when it’s their turn.
Cards are a necessary convenience, but think of the above scenario and try to have some cash handy for the unexpected. Just my penny’s worth.

2010 Gold Proof City of London £1 Coin I much prefer the "raw" versions of the sensibly weighted gold £1 coins to the lifeless hygiene of the mortuary slabs and was pleased to pick up this splendid "London" specimen from the RM 2010/11 Capital Cities collection. Just three more replacements to source. Still looking for the 2006 Egyptian Arch as well as the 2012, 2013 and 2015 (4th portrait) shields, should anybody be able to help.

We are getting boiled on every level now, nobody seems to be bothered, noone seems to care.
I feel like I'm a visitor now in the reality I used to enjoy in my 20s
Keep me away from the ' general public' and newspapers, tv, radio, bookface, social media
switch off and drop out
think for yourself. Ignore all you're told. Question
it's a mad mad mad world

It makes me want to puke those HD self service touch screens…..if you are going to catch something it’s going to be from those things with the looks of those snotty degenerates all over them with their greasy paws.
Queue to use one of those a things then having to wait for your food like a 1980’s Argo holding pen……F that I go out in the car in the morning with a flask and a bag of sandwiches.
Fast food deliveries have you seen the state of the people who deliver…….a picture of health and the bag they deliver in is scummy beyond words……swab them and it’s a case of what you wouldn’t find…… “special sauce” anyone ?

Rather than converting all to cashless.
Start with the young ones. Look at fast food restaurants.
Visited a taco bell a few weeks back 100% cashless inside All ordering via a screen and cashless payment. I also read some Asdas are trialing going cashless to
When all young un's have known is cashless, it is us dinosaur boomers using filthy cash who are odd soon enough in years to come

What if they have already setup an account and are masquerading as members, posting about TV licences, Star Wars, spoons or even Tata’s
come to think of it @dicker seems to know a lot about it 🤔
Maybe I’ve been watching too much Traitors on TV 😆
anyway, welcome to the forum, hope you find what you are looking for here.

to add to @morezone £5k is the limit for HMRC for a single transaction
or £10k in cumulative transactions/purchases over a rolling calendar year for established dealers
Very easy to reach that buying gold
You have option to purchase in cash from a coin fair but these are only a few times a year, and in most time prices are far from competitive, and you can get them cheaper online
You may find a dealer/semi professional /hobby dealer who can happily look the other way take cash that'll process "off the books" but you wont find them walking in as "Joe Public" off the street they don't know from Adam.
I have a local jeweller/pawnbroker who i can get sovereigns for spot or 1%-2% so over spot, but it is only when he has been sat on them for a good while and they haven't shifted sat in the window. He gets rid of dead stock, makes profit from what he paid for it & gets fiat cash to keep in house he can use for his pawn broking, I get super cheap sov - Win Win for us both
I will pay him cash ££ over counter in person but I'm still paying, that percent or two more than he would get Baird & Co will pay him at "trade account rates" that'll be for their melting pot or their stock inventory. But this is the first dealer Ive been able to get this with since stacking in 2008 who'll take this and make sales "off the books"

BTW it would be naive to think the HMRC / NCA *doesn't* keep an eye on this forum.
They may even have asked for member details and the forum admin would be legally prohibited from telling a member.
It pays to be a straight player, especially given that government agencies can see any of your comms, accounts etc.
With CGT free coins it’s a non issue.

Hi Sahil, welcome to the forum!
I think you will find great use of the trade section on the forum. Lots of big fish and smaller fish selling gold at reasonable premiums on here. A silver membership is worth to have a look and grab the freshest bargains.
Not sure if TSF is still doing introductory offers for the premium plans. Last I heard you could use £1 to test a month of a premium silver membership. This premium membership allows you to see listings immidiately instead of having to wait 3 days to see it.
I digress. This forum is the place to go if you are not willing to do ID checks etc. Some sellers on here are business sellers, but you can always message someone privately and ask
EDIT: I do receive cash by post payments as a payment method but I do not have nearly close to 1kg of gold

Hi Fenlander. I’m interested in the Robin Hood coin. It would be a gift for my adult son who is archery daft. Could you post better pics of that coin please? Thank you.

Depending when you bought (and where) special date sovereigns have taken something of a hammering over what they get over 'normal' years recently - the current premiums are very much not the norm
They will no doubt come good though, when premiums pick up generally those on the special years will hopefully return to where they were
