Platinum is in freefall with no obvious support anywhere in the vicinity.
It looked good last month to break out of a channel but came back under before the month was out. It's all at sea right now.

$30 not acting as support. Oh well. Off to beg for food now.

I was looking for an appropriate GIF as an analogy but couldn't find the right one. Think of stretching a elastic band so far that it makes you giggle, until it snaps back and hits you in the face.
But don't worry, it's all short term stuff. There was bound to be some bounce back.

Interestingly, gold is only 0.83% up this week. That's due to performing poorly earlier. Silver is nearly 9.92% up. Swings & roundabouts. Gold will have its time in the sun.

How much power to normal buyers have over the gold price Vs governments and banks? I'm guessing not much. If public buying had most impact, gold would be put in a massive bubble what with all the American doom-merchants on YouTube telling us to buy gold to save our skins. The theorist in me wonders if that isn't partly the goal of those YouTubers, trying to pump gold like crypto YouTubers try to pump their coins.

I like your graphs at least they show information and patterns, not just an abstract number that has zero meaning by itself
True but by the time you copy and paste from BBP the price will have changed (it changes every second or minute depending on the interval used by the dealers)
I don't mind at all if people want to post the price but there's no need to post it every 5 minutes for weeks on end. Sometimes people are posting and showing +/- 0.01% moves, like who even cares? As a trader you might worry about intra-day pricing but as a stacker the only numbers that matter are the closes, with the longer timescale closes being more important - i.e. 1 year close > 1/4 close > month close > weekly close > daily close

Better than looking at some muppet post the gold price 730 times. This thread is to discuss gold price action, not just the current price but what is it going to do next? There's a ticker at the top of the page for ffffs

In March 2023, there was an ATH akin to the one a few weeks ago. The charts would not have looked a good time to buy. I bought anyway because that day's high would be a future's low (and so it is). Gold charts may be good for traders but for stackers, just buy.
^^^ I found that text saved in the comments box. I must have decided against sending it (it is rather stating the obvious I must say). But it seems a waste to delete it now. All hail my boilerplate wisdom.
