  1. I think the "888" cert would be worth having as this an auspicious number in Chinese numerology - it signifies triple fortune. It would be a nice bonus to get a No.1 from directly from the mint, but I think the certs are just allocated randomly to the coins so it doesn't really mean it was the first coin minted.
  2. In July, Central Banks continued to be net buyers of gold - globally Central Banks reported net purchases of 55 tons of gold: https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/central-bank-gold-buying-continued-hot-july
  3. The paper to silver ratio continues to fall - it is now 266.96:1
  4. RM new £5 2024 Lunar Year of the Dragon has just been released with little fanfare and little interest! This must be the RM's first 2024 coin and we haven't ever seen the 2023 definitive coins!
  5. Silver Sceatta, circa 730-750 AD Obv. Facing bust, pellets around, Rev. Quadruped standing left, head right, Series QIG, type 59. Mint in East Anglia. S808C This is a really small coin - diameter 9mm.
  6. There is always the next "must have" item.
  7. Are you sure it is a "shilling" and not a "sixpence"?? The "sixpences" look very similar to this and do exist with the date 1578.
  8. Back in March, I reported that the paper to silver ratio was 364.29 to 1. Interestingly it is now only (!) 273.99 to 1 - which is quite a fall in a matter of 5 1/2 months. It will be interesting to see whether this continues - and the implications of this move (why has it happened, and will there be an impact on the spot price of silver?). The paper to gold ratio has increased slightly in this time period - up from 121.32 to 1, to 127.19 to 1. So, not really much change with gold.
  9. Maybe look and see if there are other coins from this era on YouTube?
  10. The queue is not very long - RM marketing at its very best!
  11. You are right, there is a Queue-it on the RM site!!!!!!!!!!! Excitement mounts!!!!!!!
  12. Are you sure it is silver? If it is, it should also be proof. The coin in the pictures doesn't look to be proof.
  13. I think the key thing is to be competitive on price. A lot of Forum members already have these coins (OK maybe not graded) and so to entice them into buying, it is going to have to be down to price. If you put them into auction I don't think you will end up getting spectacular prices. So, do your research on prices and be realistic in your expectations. Multi-lists seem to work well if the prices are right.
  14. If you now have the envelope with the wrong address, and the Christmas card, surely it is the sender's responsibility that the coin has gone missing?
  15. Even before the introduction of CBDCs, people are struggling to spend their money the way they want - there have been numerous stories on this Forum where members report that they have been stopped from buying gold or silver by their banks (because of anti-fraud/suspicious activity). So, I struggle to see what difference the introduction of CBDCs would make. And there is a problem when trying to spend gold and silver - you can't pay your electricity bills or council tax with them, and you can't buy food with them!
  16. Maybe look at "Order Details" for this item and this may have a delivery/return address??
  17. When I receive things that are tracked I normally get an email from eBay saying the item has been delivered (with delivery address and courier). I know your situation is different in that it is a returned item, but it surprises me that you have not received an email from eBay.
  18. I've just looked at one of my eBay Order Delivered emails. It say "Delivered to" (name and address) and "Dropped off" (time and courier). Does your eBay notification not say this?
  19. Did you get an email from eBay saying the package has been delivered? This is quite normal now when things are tracked.
  20. Maybe go to your local delivery office? Ask for more information. Don't forget, it could be the delivery guy that has taken it! It says it was delivered at 1.43pm, is this the normal time for your postal deliveries?
