I don't think you can be in physical gold for the short term, it has a horrible tendency to draw you in! Once you buy a couple of pieces that's you.

I think KCIII coins have as much chance as any other reigning monarch. Imho. In 100 years if the monarchy is still here then no one will care about his personal popularity. Victoria became very unpopular later in her reign. It’s the coin designs, mintages and scarcity over time that matter. There’s nothing intrinsic to Charles that makes theses coins less valuable over time. Plus imho the Jennings portrait is top notch. How many years will it last?

I keep buying modern Sovs but purely because they keep releasing one year/event specific Sovs so feel they’ll hold a little extra value over the long term. Jubilee/memorial/crowned KCIII has been quite the run. Once this is over and it’s back to normal George and Dragon Sovs, I’ll go back to buying the older ones, just because I like the young Vics and Gillicks specifically but ideally, pick them up as best value

    Hi all,
After collecting a few Gold and Silver bullion coins to hedge against inflation (so I told myself), I bagged a couple of late year kookaburras. Wow... I think this could be the start of a beautiful friendship and something more than just precious metals.

Still sealed in it's Royal Mint plastic, the plastic is 'bobbly' material, the dot are NOT on the coin itself! It is SO tempting to release this beauty from captivity!
1972 Prince Phillip crown, struck to proof standards in Sterling Silver.
