    wanted 2 Escudo coin

Hi All, I'm on the lookout for a reasonably priced 2 Escudo coin around the Carlos III or Carlos IV era. I've seen a few on various sites, but I thought I'd check and see if any of you fine folks have any available. TIA 8ace
  2. Another nice coin for future purchase.
  3. I've just received a 10oz Celebration bar and I'm very happy, but as said before "get the one you like the most"
  4. I see that an Italian mint is going to release some Sterling Silver coins celebrating Ducati motorcycles. And as with Ducati's they are reassuringly overpriced, but nice looking. https://www.shop.ipzs.it/en/2024-5e-ag-ducati-trittico48-2ms10-24f021.html https://www.shop.ipzs.it/en/2024-5e-ag-ducati-panigale-fdc48-2ms10-24f019.html
  5. “That's all I can stands, 'cause I can't stands no more.” I'll take one please.
  6. Looks like a nice kook design.
  7. Nope, just in January. The 2024 Lunar has the Queen on it, so possibly the kook too, just a guess.

    Purple Gold

Having spent time in the electronics industry (microchip packaging), this is the last thing you want to see between Gold/Aluminium interconnects. It is known as Purple Plague. Great video though.
  9. Lovely looking coins. Here is the one I've just picked up.
  10. Cheers for the advice, I think I've found a loose proof one for a reasonable price.
  11. I've been looking for a Maklouf Sovereign for my collection. The price for 85-97 sovereigns have a large premium attached to them, which I assume is due to rarity and only in proof release. Are buyers paying the premium or or is it just inflated seller prices. TIA 8ace
  12. Interesting thread. Another thought is whether the person/company being paid believes what they are being given has the value indicated. The only reason Fiat currency works (which is just low value paper/metal) is because we can easily see its value and trust we can use it ourselves. A £1 coin is worth £1 even if it looks a bit dodgy, because most will accept it. A Scottish £ note has problems because that underpaid restaurant person doesn't want the aggravation of deciding if it's real or not. As I said, an interesting thread and I'm also keen to hear of any stories.
