No it's a crap design and with no contrast, low relief and the hardly inspiring finish of modern sovs. The proof just about rescues it but even then, the design is poor.

Bought last weekend on eBay - a bullion 2012 Sovereign. Wanted one to complete the set of modern unique sovereign designs - the 1989, 2002, 2005, 2012. 
Now -- I have to grumble here, as I must say I really don't like the design! It's cluttered, and at least in the bullion version the details don't stand out. In fact it's probably the only sovereign where I prefer the QEII side?
Am I the only one that's not impressed? I did cheer up a bit when I put it in a 22mm Airtite I must confess!

Postman isbusy today. These finally arrived..so my 1998-2016 Britannia set is complete and my 1998-2016 (also including the 2015 and 2016 plain fields) set is complete  (The mark on the 2007 is on the capsule)

My very first gold purchase. Nothing special just a 2001 half sovereign. Slightly smaller than a penny. Very cool and nice and compact vs silver too!
