  1. If the mint do not make it explicit in their marketing , before release (what have we now, 4days before release if indeed the6th Dec) they will quite rightly be accused of profiteering at customers expense. Folk would rightly be pi**ed off if they never had full details before purchasing. Also I think it would be unwise to produce the information on variations only at release date, they know it will be a mad scramble and folk will purchase given the chance for fear of missing out.
  2. I agree, two versions was a push but they had legitimate reasons for doing so. I think the mint have a team now in place who are looking to wring every last £ out of any variations and weights they can invent. I think they should tread carefully when dealing with classic , historic productions from their stable.

Not bad at all. Don’t know what BBP are playing at these days, they have a reputation to keep😄
  4. After further examination I have decided to return my 5 coin set. Pitting on the 5 and two marks on the double. A lot of scratches on the capsules themselves but could have lived / changed that. 😔 How do returns work, will RM send a DHL courier or is it up to customer to arrange. I am out in sticks and think only option could be RM special delivery. I see their insurance is only up to £2500 which is about half the value, any suggestions folks? (DHL used a partner for last leg of journey to us, I don’t think they would collect?)
  5. You were asking about potential prices once the dust had settled.
  6. Are you intending buying on the secondary market if you don’t get one on initial release from mint?
  7. Why do you ask? If you are fortunate enough to bag any release in this series, you will be doing very well I would suggest. Demand for these will be huge.
  8. I kind of suspected this as release date. Too late to market for this Monday. Any later than the 6th Dec and they are pushing it for troubles with dispatch/ holiday period etc. That said, RM not adverse to mega customer relations issues. I just hope my remortgage comes through in time.
  9. I have had a look at my coins under 10x loupe. Looks like multiple scratches on the capsule not on the coins. Question is, why the Francis can they not sort this out? They are making a very big markup from retail price. instead of doing a few surveys, the mint are needing to employ a few well placed individuals who will tell them where they are going wrong. I.e. package your goods properly and stop using cheap s****.
  10. Hi and welcome to the forum. voyeur, hehe
  11. Price of the silver has really dropped. I wonder if we’ve reached a bottom and they will start ticking up now. I think sub £1k is a steal.
  12. Head bankster, it really does beggar belief. JPM have their fingers in many pies. I just happened to be reading part of the small print in my sons trust fund and noted that they were a part of that package. I changed policy shortly after, don’t want any connection with this outfit. Apparently they are starting retail online banking in the UK next year. Not sure if it’s under another name but watch out for them.
  13. Not sure mate, I’ve only heard of requests to return entire sets for replacement. If you could send only 1 coin that would be better. Suggest anyone who returns a set publishes the Coa number here for each other’s reference.
  14. I appear to be the opposite of most folks, no surprise here. Have not received my set yet and have a delivery expected in 5 days time butHMRM has gone ahead and relieved me of circa £5k in anticipation. If they land , rattling about in semi opened cases I will not be be surprised but gunning for the buggers. Wish me luck, I have the 5 coin set ordered
  15. Do you mean the infamous finger condoms?
  16. As a member well known for rampant consumerism, I find that hard to believe😁 Weren't you flogging your gift cards one year mate?
  17. Went for it big time mate👌 That’s your Una owners for you!😄
  18. DHL text re RM delivery finally👍 Estimated delivery date: Wednesday😔
  19. Hi, have a reply post to SilverMike “hidden” in red, assuming no one else can see it, can someone advise?
  20. You are not going to stop this divide of opinion.I am sure it will be debated many more times in the future. as it’s becoming more of an issue. I would hate to see the day where you could only buy graded from the mint / dealers and I fear that’s the direction we are travelling. Some no doubt will say, you could just break free any coin you purchase. My answer to this is it’s an added expense and hassle. In an age where everything is going digital, I think this takes a physical product another step away from its tangible beauty. I only received my first “slabbed” coin this year and although not as ugly as I had envisioned, I would say slabbed is indeed an apt description. I do however take on board your points and many more being made, quality control being a biggie, each to their own. As stated, I will consider grading in the future if looking to move coins on and think it worthwhile.😄 Incidentally, I believe the expression you are looking for is sought-after.
  21. Fair enough. I’m ambivalent about the the topic, , raw when I buy, graded if I think will add ££ and looking to sell. As you say, each to their own. Except raw is definitely better 😁👍
