Do you think the mint will be selling display boxes at a reasonable cost of £300ish for these coins. £400 for the upgraded version for the graders, where it displays the coin but conceals the slab?😎

I think the mint have issued second coins to some folk without charge. Something to with ordering the QA plus portrait and QA coin only. Shouldn’t have been permitted to order both(1 per household) but another cockup!

I’m sure there would be takers at rrp. Some folk are not interested in grading and just collect what they like, that damage looks very minor to the eye. I may have offered for it however I have an order pending myself now. I do understand you being annoyed however, the mint are not giving these away ( well not to most folks)

They sometimes put a hold on the payment/refund then reapply when dispatched if it is taking a wee while. Should be ok, give them a ring when they open to check.

They will have your account populate the computer via your phone number usually. They should have confirmed your details right enough as mistakes can and are made.

I think they are kicking the arse out of the Tudor series and would not touch with a barge pole personally. The fact the gold releases for panther have not sold says it all for me. I am not sure how you build rapport with mint account manager. I certainly wouldn’t buy anything I thought had negative potential. I think it may come down to how much you expect. I missed out on the gothic crown and my AM secured me the 2oz silver. A day or two later and it looks like I have the the portrait also. Do not get me wrong, I wanted the gold, but the person concerned delivered the goods with little requests. Worth having in that respect.

Where did you sign up for first options? I know the mint marque service CAN provide preferential offerings but not guaranteed.

You are probably right. However, if true collectors would not be prepared to engage with the process , the ones who would benefit most, then there would be no chance. Quite telling what you replied, is it that a good % of collectors are prepared to flip themselves and therefore part of the problem? I know some will sell to mates at cost but think this is the exception?

They could make a start by putting the coa on the edge of coin or a unique way of identifying each coin. Hopefully auction houses would engage with recording and the process. Any numbers being sold within x amount of years, original buyer loses privileges? Would only leave feebay who as per, wouldn’t give a toss.

Totally agree, everyone has to weigh the risks for themselves. Personally I think there is little downside here. Another option would be to flip some bullion or other numismatics which have done well to fund future purchases. We are all adults here I hope.

Hi Paul. If you are in a position to do do so, it may be worth remortgaging instead. You can still get a 10 year fix deal for around 2% . Would future proof for inflation and you could add a little for a couple more in the series. 5 year deals are still around 1%.
