  1. How's this for an unusual shaped bar / coin? Is it a bar? Is it a coin? So what has the Solomon Islands got to do with a FIFA world cup held in Russsia, or a Mexican Wave?
  2. You wait years for a China Construction Company gold bar to turn up, then two come along at once: Monkey and elephant. ...and the reveerse: Both sides quite attractive!
  3. We don't usually, Our testing is mainly intended as a quick check that it is what it purports to be, and we do not always record the results, especially when they are normal. We do usually record them, and photograph them, when we get an abnormal result. When we offer a bar like this for sale, we guarantee it to be as described and genuine. However, we are looking at automating our testing results, in which case, we would be able to supply a copy of with the item, and possibly on our website. for greater accuracy, we have set our test time at 60 seconds per side. Most users probably use 20 seconds, or even 10 seconds, for speed and convenience. If we supplied a Niton test result with every precious metal item we sell, we would need a whole bank of them, and more staff! 🙂
  4. Thanks. I didn't get round to checking yet, but many dealers do use our copyright images without our consent. I just looked, and our photos were even better! https://www.chards.co.uk/2021-silver-kangaroo-1-ounce-australian-bullion-coin/13079 🙂
  5. Another brand of gold bars we have not seen before: .. and the top side: 50 grams 9999 gold. We Niton XRF tested these as usual, with entirely normal results.
  6. Although we are a Perth Mint Prime Distributor, we do not always stock their numismatic or proof releases. There are a number of reasons for this, as ever. We get a lot of new coin offers, and we do not have the human resources to deal with them all, and do so better than our competitors. We like to be better, cheaper, different, or all three if possible. Smaller coins are often at much higher premiums than larger coins, and we like to provide good value. So, this issue is an unlikely one for us to run.
  7. "question question" You can say that again! 🙂 I did cover 11 out of the OP's 12 questions or points, but giving a more precise answer would have required another half hour or more. With almost any coin issue: The currently available (from the mint) coin will usually set a benchmark. Earlier, secondary market, coins will have more widely differing prices, depending upon numerous factors, including as noted supply and demand. While the latest issue migh have big demand, it will alsio have big supply, possibly unlimited in theory. My comment about an extra 1,000 being easily supplied is relevant, and this would have affect premiums (except possibly lower). Previous issues have more limited supply, especially if required in a short timescale., but demand for them will usually also be lower, especially if these are at higher premiums than new. A different way of explaining this is that specific older coins will have less market liquidity. In turn, this means that relatively small changes in supply and demand will tend to have a greater effect on price/premiums. Also bear in mind that secondary market coins are more likely to have some wear, tear, fingerprints, scuffs, edge knocks, etc.; even more that new ones from the RM .🙂 This may widen any price/premiums gaps, with scruffy ones selling at closer to spot, while pristine ones may often command slightly higher asking prices.
  8. You won't see any mark🙂s on them if you only glance at them in the dark!
  9. I'd forgotten about the trident privy mark, thanks for the reminder. P.S. Isn't our photo much better than our competitor's? Better prices, better service, better photos... 🙂
  10. Older does not always translate to higher value. While it does tend to have an influence, there are usually many other factors.
  11. So, @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer are making a mistake by pricing them at a small discount, (compared with 2021), rather than a little more premium. Perhaps that 3.9 to 4.2% premium should be slightly higher?
  12. I could see from the notification e-mail you were thinking of saying "Chards Platinum (Taxable) QB example, shows Premium as % which works well as an indicator 👍, but should maybe include (Ex VAT) on the Premium % headi..." There was not enough room for it to fit, and the next column helps to clarify it: Quantity Premium % Price Per Item (Exc. VAT) Price Per Item (Inc. VAT) Total (Inc. VAT) Est UK Delivery 1 11.5 £818.02 £981.62 £981.62 £6.00 2 11.25 £816.19 £979.43 £1,958.86 £7.00 5 10.75 £812.52 £975.02 £4,875.10 £9.00 10+ 9.5 £803.35 £964.02 £9,640.20 £12.00 Also more logical to show premium ex-VAT for non-UK buyers.
  13. Typical ebay optimism. Ebay get another listing fee. Seller could be correct about this "they should have gone back into the melting pot". It's not too late. 🙂
  14. No, from different batches. I don't know how many of the weak ones we have, but I hope it's not many. We @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer should keep one in our Black Museum, but if not, we have the photos.
  15. If you read they are worth more, it's a misprint! I don't consider this example of poor production quality to enhance their value, however there are error collectors who may find them desirable or interesting. Coins are minted not printed, so misminted rather than misprinted.
  16. Gold one ounce lunars: https://www.chards.co.uk/1oz-gold-lunar-coin/one-ounce-gold-coloured-lunar-series-coin/612 also made in other sizes.
  17. You could try asking them how much for 10. 🙂
  18. If ebay is the answer, it must have been a dumb question. 🙂 I am sure @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer would be happy to buy them, subject to price. I presume you are talking about gold ones, but may be wrong. Seriously, ebay is generally best avoided.
  19. Correct on almost every point, except for: "Perhaps Chards have unearthed and bought a large cache of 2017s that they need to shift?!" Sure @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer recently bought some. Not a large cache, and we don't need to shift them, but we exercise sensible stock management. If you want 1000 x 2021, we can supply them. If you wanted to buy 1000 x 2017, you could probably not source them even if you were willing to pay double or treble the current price. they do look nice:
  20. Having looked at the photos, it was very easy to reach a definite conclusion. He needs to buy a better camera (or phone) 🙂
  21. Very nice photos! Could they be courtesy of @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer? 🙂
