  1. @danmc82 made me a small copper brick a while back. You could ask him.

    Harrington and Byrne

It was advertised this week in the Metro, been on offer for a few weeks now.
  3. Look the same to me, it's just the lighting that's different.
  4. You can have these back as I'm fed up with the junkmail from Harrington & Byrne's still reaching me.
  5. Cgt exempt coins depending on the country you live in. Sovereigns are a safe bet (UK) and what you can afford.
  6. You don't sell fat juicy steaks though
  7. I'm usually walking over to Costco whilst at work and always check their gold prices but these prices don't make any sense. Is the sovereign price now subsidising the Britannia's new price? I took a picture on Friday, which showed the lower sovereign price, which they had on display yesterday. They're never the cheapest bullion dealer and I'm not sure if their prices are consistent between their stores.
  8. I can't get the Daily Sport anymore so the Daily Mail is the next best for comedy value
  9. It was in the Daily Mail so it probably was in the Metro as well.
  10. Harrington & Byrne are advertising their latest offer in the papers for a memorial sovereign at £389 and free postage plus an endless supply of junk mail for a year.
  11. If I can't afford it then I post on the forum for another member to have the chance to buy from them as forum members look out for each other. They do have great deals from time to time In which I'm always pleased to either pass onto forum members or take them up on a deal.
  12. Picked this '57 up in town today for a good price so I can't complain about the scratch or slight ding on the back. Just like buying a secondhand car.
  13. Sorry Chris, I didn't have my glasses with me at the time as I would have checked the condition if I did. Thought I'd post the set here for anyone interested. It might be worth ringing them to ask about their condition. Very friendly staff in there.
  14. If I bought the set today my missus would have me living on the street by tonight!
  15. Marked up for £2750 but Aylesbury Bullion would accept £2250 for this 2012 proof set.

    Sharps Pixley

I guess a few of their customers buy from them and put them in the safety deposit boxes on site in the shop so they can walk out empty handed. I've been there a handful of times and they've been pleasant to deal with. If buying sovereigns you can ask them to look for a particular date that you want, as long as they have it in stock.
  17. Today I received the two landmark silver coins from @Alex1532 that arrived safe and sound, top fella to deal with 👍. Also my memorial half sovereign arrived. Haven't studied it up close yet as I've just got in, tired eyes. I'll have a look tomorrow.
  18. 25kv overhead power lines are live at all times to deter theft on the railway. They probably target storage yards where the spare drums of cabling is kept. The odd time we get our railway line disrupted due to lineside signalling cable theft, where they chop a few hundred metres off in the middle of the night but it doesn't seem to be worth the bother as there isn't much in it once the insulation is all stripped off.
  19. Nice to know they're being sent out although I'll probably regret buying just a half instead of a full, it was the price that stopped me going for the full at the time. Should get mine tomorrow.
  20. I drove across the border to visit Banja Luka ten years ago for a day out. Had a meal at the Yachting Club restaurant on the Vrbas river. Nice food and it was pretty cheap but I couldn't help notice how the people there obeyed the road crossings and moved around in silence. Wouldn't mind going back to have a better look around.
  21. They'll be cheaper from Croatia as I refuse to pay ebay prices. No doubt they'll be available at the flea markets in the future.
  22. Bloody hell, that's a bit of a trek on the planes! The Old Pilot's gin & vodka are both gold award winners. I gave my dad the gin bottle the other night & my eldest stepson had a smaller bottle, which he said was excellent. It's highly rated apparently.
