It varies from coin to coin, some of your coins may well achieve a premium.
 

Copper in a pre-decimal £ is worth £17.13 at current prices and adjusted for inflation a 1971 £ is now worth £13.98.
And the Copper in a pre 1992 £ is worth £2.70, adjusted for inflation the 1992 £ is worth £2.10.
Even lowly Copper is a decent inflation hedge.

Maybe I just chose the wrong one to go with ... there's all sorts of boxed stuff - 2015 gold proof set (£2,£1,50p and also 20p,10p,5p,2p and 1p all in gold) or a couple of 4 coin Britannia proof sets (1,1/2,1/4,1/8) or a 5 coin sovereign proof set (5,2,1,1/2,1/4) etc.  I'm surprised if none of it has any additional value to anyone (especially when you see people even here pay what I consider quite "full" prices for proof sovs, whereas I just stick them in the bag when they come in and chuck away the boxes as I couldn't care less if they are proof or not)
I would never sell anything to Atkinsons but will always have a 98% bid without any need for boxes so at some point I'll just give up, chuck the boxes and keep the coins in a bag. In the end, they'll go to the kids in x years or else be sold out when the price is well into 5 figures (thought experiment - what do you think the premium on anything is going to be if gold is £10,000 per ounce? I reckon little to none and that you will only sell stuff to a dealer or rarely face-to-face not least because you won't get insurance to post anything and your level of trust of anyone will go down as the price goes massively up)
All interesting! But if you don't try you never find out.  I figure that it's exactly the same on the sovs - waste of time going through the dates and mints, even on the Queen Vic ones to try to find something interesting.
 
 

Understand your thinking but I bought one of these for slightly under spot a couple of months ago.
As nice as these £2's are, they are rarely worth more than spot.
You have more luck at around the £860 mark in my opinion.

I saw this post earlier, and I totally agree with @Spyder - like it or not, this is an unpopular format for gold coins. On top of that it's an impaired proof - you will be fortunate to get a penny over spot for it.
I'd just list it and see what happens.
 

You have asked for feedback so I will give an honest opinion to you, but first I will say that the £2 gold coin is a hard sale to get a premium over spot and this is even in graded format.  You are asking for sovereign swap which is the easiest coin to sell and on top you want someone to pay for their postage to you and your postage to them.  Can not see it myself.  
I would just list the coin for sale and use the proceeds to buy the sovereigns.  Good luck
