its called been smart with money
money sits in bank account earning interest, credit card then gains 1% cash back, put it this way, im buying pm (from online retailers) cheaper then you could possibly buy it, for the reasons stated, interest earned in the bank, then 1% cashback, whos the one using credit cards smartly?

you are right, it technically is a debt, a debt that is paid in full at statement day, i dont see it as debt though, as the money is in a bank account ready to pay it off in full, on the day the statement needs paying.

a debt that incurs no interest, you clearly dont understand how a credit card works.
the smart people use a credit card and pay it off in full at statement due date, while the money stays in the bank earning interest.

Mate of mine runs a business and uses credit card to accumulate air miles. We have 10 people going away next year and he has covered all the flights.
Like you say it's just smart money.

chards, you clearly do not want me as your customer, nor want  to deal with me.

i have spent £2k at your competitors, all willing to accept my plastic.

one of my credit cards give me 1% cash back (getting me back £20 on my 2k spend) this card also gives me up to 56 days to pay for my purchase.

i understand you have to pay fees to take credit cards, but this is simply a cost of doing buisness, maybe in time you will responder your position, as i will not deal with any business that does not want me as a customer based on what payment option i choose to use.

Another understated/known fact is using your billing dates correctly on multiple credit cards really helps.  When you have several  at your disposal
    Example
Its May 3rd here - you read here RM is launching the Coronation "strike of the day" is launching May 6th and you want to go for it, but cant afford it until pay day June 1st
Say you have 3-6 different credit card in your arsenal at your disposal, know the billing date when each is generated
Santander 2nd MBNA 9th Santander 13th  Tesco 18th Virgin RBS 29th  You would use the RBS as you know its not generated/billed until the 29th, you then have the two and a bit weeks window to make your payment for that month, which gets you into mid-June
By which time you've been paid on the 1st June
You can settle the bill in full, without interest
Had you used the MBNA one which bills on the 9th, three days after RM launch it would have ended up generating him a interest payment as he wouldn't have settled it before pay day June 1st
Using this billing date method, using it right days you can get up to 56 days of "interest free" window to use

i have over £60k credit limits across all cards, yes 60 thousand, my cash back card currently holds a balance of arround £3k at moment, from gold, and car insurance renewal and my normal spends, all to be paid in full on statement day, netting me at least £30 in cash back this month.

you are totaly correct it needs willpower and discipline

^ I think this is the key piece... I would never consider letting the card go unpaid, but I can see where some may fall into the dangerous trap!
