  1. I believe the most accurate answer to your posed conundrum is that the price of gold in 2024 will drop to as low as it will. Whatever that may be.
  2. Interesting read. Thank you for sharing.
  3. Excellent result. Congratulations. I guess tiny edge imperfections don’t affect grading.
  4. Dropping in to admit my mistake. No order cancellations by the RM after all. Congratulations to all that profited from this lucrative deal.
  5. Most people advise to buy the cheapest i.e. bars. However, keep in mind that reputable dealers generally pay below spot for bars in comparison to coins. Yes, bars are cheaper, but you’ll have to hold on to them relatively longer to see any return on investment. Plus selling bars to private individuals is much more tedious due to questionable provenance and risk of counterfeiting.
  6. I encountered the same thing on a German website about a week ago. They had mistakenly listed a substantial amount of 1/10 Congo gorilla gold coins below spot, but since I didn’t like the design of the coins, I didn’t get any.
  7. WTB 1 & 5g RM gold bars. Offering -20% below spot. 😂
  8. If memory serves me well, imported gold bars into the EU aren’t exempt from duties and vat charges. I’m afraid you’re in for a surprise. 😭
  9. I have no stake in the matter. If I were you, I’d be typing an email to the RM threatening them with legal action for breach of contract in an effort to dissuade them from canceling your order. If enough people complain that might tip the scales in your favor. So get busy typing.
  10. Any publicity is better than no publicity to the RM.
  11. For example BBP have a 1 to 15% discount on selected items. Never mind their overinflated prices. 😂
  12. Prices are listed below each item. Nowhere on their website did they imply such deep discounts. They’ll just chalk it up to it’s an honest mistake and get away with it. Market fluctuations is a non argument. People will complain after which this entire fiasco will blow over a few weeks from now. Once the next shiny release comes around everyone will be back at it throwing their money at the RM complaining about quality issues.
  13. The RM should print this text on future assay cards.
  14. A fair argument were it not that no where on their website did they mention or imply that these products were so heavily discounted. The algorithm was obviously broken and by the looks of it someone just caught up with this debacle and fixed it, but still overlooking the India sovereign. That one is still broken. I predict a massive rollback come tomorrow. The cherry on the cake is that most only focused on this exploit and missed out on real Black Friday offerings elsewhere. Oh well, there’s always next year. 🍿 🍺 🛋️
  15. These aren’t regular gold bars we’re talking about. It’s doubtful that the RM intended to sell themed premium products at spot price. The winter holidays hasn't even started and they’ve already run out of stock.
  16. I fear come tomorrow it will be disappointments all-round. Orders will get cancelled en masse, and those that placed them knowing full well it was an honest mistake by the RM will whine despite not having any interest in these products to begin with, greed being the driving factor. Those responsible for this debacle at the RM may even end up losing their jobs. The RM will be stuck with a surplus of bars after canceling all those orders not shifting any during the Black Friday event, except for the occasional unbeknownst single purchase. Customers genuinely in search of these products over the weekend will be disappointed due to depleted stocks. Online dealers will have missed out on Black Friday sales because everybody rushed to spend all their money on the deal of the century which we all know is too good to be true. Those that think that the RM will be fulfilling these orders at a loss have another thing coming. I’m going to sit back and enjoy the show. Popcorn anyone? P.S. And some bank accounts may even get suspended due to suspicious transactions for having placed multiple orders in a single day or over the course of the weekend.
  17. OP after carefully scrutinizing the images you posted, I fear none of them will grade PF70. All of them appear to have some minor blemish or another. I predict all will fetch PF69. Perhaps one even a PF68. I’d be curious to know how it turns out. Bummer, but one could only hope.
  18. Short answer to the op question; it depends on the coin.
  19. I got charged VAT while importing vat exempt investment gold from the US into the EU. In my case the private individual had filled in the incorrect tariff code on the customs paperwork. But as I suggested in a previous post above couriers might be charging vat on purpose just so they can charge clearance and handling fees which can’t be recouped through a reimbursement claim.
  20. We at least gotta give the seller props for full disclosure.
  21. In actuality the sovereign is less redish than the eagle is. The fields on the proof sovereign tone darker than the mated finish of the quarter eagle due to contrast and the lighting conditions. If you compare the color of the Indian’s cheek with that of the ultra cameo on the sovereign, the sovereign’s ultra cameo toning is clearly lighter than that of the Indian. Your eyes are simply deceiving you.
  22. I have both in 1/10 and am awaiting the release of the caballo in 1/10 so I can snap it up. Unlike Britannia’s unfortunately only the 1 oz coins have the laser engraved security feature.
  23. The gold coin is basically a modified version of their 2014 jeweled dragon coin release. Not very creative and in my opinion the design came out better in 3D.
  24. IMO we’ve already been seeing this over the last few years. Smaller gold pieces are much more in demand. Many people can’t afford an ounce of gold anymore. Rest assured the spot price will come down once the world has recovered from the initial shock of the turmoil in the Middle East. I’m personally not buying any precious metals for at least another month. Personally I’d never buy any gold below 1/10 oz due to the crazy high premiums. Your chances of recouping your investment within a reasonable time span is slim to none.

    Lowest Gold Price

An exercise in futility. Que sera sera. Anyone’s guess is as good as anyone else’s.
