I will get capital gains tax on bars. So stick to currancy coin. Higher premium now, but in 10years I can keep all the profit for myself

Mexico 1 Kilo Libertad 2019 Reverse Proof
I can get it for £1.250
I'm afraid of buying lots of expensive coins that I can only sell at spot, if I ever get rid of them.
    Appreciate your help. greetings newbie

It's not 24c. It looks like something I find in my son's pirate chest. Probably why they write .24c

Starting a new thread on counterfeit coins of recent times. antique coins I understand are something else.
I'm relatively new to the game and trying to get the hang of everything. when I read on the internet, I get the feeling that there are fake coins floating around everywhere.
But I have now spent days trying to find a coin that is fake but look real. everything I can find looks like it could be settled in a few minutes with the help of a 5xloupe and a picture of a real one.
At first glance they can fool many, but with the help of a magnet, scale, measure, magnifying glass. Is there really any danger of being cheated?
if anyone has any pictures of a some fake coins it would be very interesting to see.
The reason why I'm asking is second hand market.

I came across a problem once with the specifications of a coin.
Due to an error the dimensions were published incorrectly and everyone else simply copied and pasted so the error was everywhere.
The fact that your coin is smaller that the spec means the spec has been written down incorrectly.
You should email the Mint and see if you get a response.

Wow !  Someone has caught a gold fever and should fit right in on the forum.
Have a look at the gold pandas too. They are very nice.

The buffalo looks like a fake. I think the OP should send it to me to double check. 😆
I yet to have one of those. 😅

I think the same as you. Bought 1kg kookaburra this week and paid £730 for it, so I think £870 is a lot for a tiger even if it is in a smaller edition. I think I'm a mix of a stacker, collector, gold/silver speculator who will never sell. I am working on getting to know a new side of me. lol

    Looks pretty good to me.
They have to get the weight to within a certain point ( you can get more gold but not less)
The size and thickness is seriously within range and like I say..under sized good...oversized bad

Here are some pictures. I got it for spot due to some scratch. I'm new to the coin world so much to learn.

The reason why I'm asking is that I thought the mint had an precise cast that made it impossible for coins not to be exactly the same.

Here's the thing, the specs on the online source are only approx.
Your coin weighs correctly and you say its slightly undersized and thinner??
That tells me it's geniune, it would need to be oversized in either diameter or thickness to be the right weight ( gold density )
Now add in a dealer checked and said its 24ct... safe to say i think you are safe.
There's nothing wrong with being cautious and checking dimensions, but invest a little time to understand what your actually checking for.

Can someone help me with a Lunar Tiger 1oz 2022. Have checked it at a coin dealer who checked it in a gold analyzer machine as shown 24 carat.
But the dimensions of the coin are diameter of 31.9mm, and thickness 2.6mm, weight is 1oz exactly.
I find other measurements online. it says diameter of 32.6mm, and thickness 2.95mm.
Could the coin be fake? I've looked at it with a magnifying glass and can't find a single place where everything isn't perfect
