Great post except I don't get the logic how demand and utility would keep a lid on prices unless we have a command economy. Have read this idea before on the forum. Profit is the only incentive to mine/recycle miners don't care if someone else wants cheap Silver.

Anteater reacted to MBTPSilver in Any Bullion dealers here to confirm some reporting questions?
I'm not aware of any dealers that actively report transactions. We are legally required to verify customers under the VAT-free investment gold notice, section 7, records to be kept - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/gold-acquisitions-imports-investments-and-vat-notice-70121#sect7
If HMRC/police come to a dealer with the proper data access request the dealer will then hand those details over, but no dealer should be going to HMRC etc at the end of each year and giving them a list of all the transactions etc. There are also AML and KYC bits that help protect the dealer and customers, but again don't require pro-active reporting.

    100% mate
I have a phone call at 10.30 so I am dying to get it open but dont have enough time to film right now!
Let me tell you though, its making some very jingley jangly noises.
The Edinburgh Assay Office are very good at packaging my stuff and as it has been confirmed as opened by the Royal Mail you can bet your bottom dollar that they will be reciving a claim for ANY damage to ANY of the pieces I have made.

Well I think that's how the premium on goldbacks works.

The order confirmation email will show the price of the order. If that matches what you actually paid, I think you can rightly tell them to stick it.

I think that's the first time I've seen that opinion stated. I've never tried selling gold abroad, but from watching stacking-related content from other countries it seems to me that ounces/fractions of an ounce are much more popular outside of the UK and perhaps a couple of commonwealth countries.

No limit to what you can purchase, this merely relates to the tax paid on profits over £3k on an annual basis, when selling non-CGT exempt coins/bars etc

So was it diverted as "dangerous" an then lost/stolen, or was it never actually diverted? If it was logged as diverted, is there any evidence from later in the chain to show it really was?
It does all sound a little fishy with other reports of items being deemed "dangerous" and for destruction, then miraculously delivered when that was queried. One wonders if bad actors with jobs within Royal Mail could be abusing internal procedures re dangerous goods to mask their "appropriations".

    The following are now missing.
30x 100g Silver Forum Bars (2024) - Hallmarked but NO serial numbers on the side.
6x Assorted chess pieces - Hallmarked but no weight markings.
If anyone sees them being put up for sale or see them anywhere on the internet pleae let me know as this will be reported to the police.

Just for reference, civil defence sirens were tested occasionally prior to their decommissioning in the early 90s. I remember hearing tests a couple of times. I've also seen news reporting when site-specific sirens were tested in more recent years (eg at Devonport.)

TBH, I’ve never seen any of these Money Fair Kooks go in the UK for more than £60 or so.
I picked this one up recently for £40 ish.
