I have been happy with gold and silver and my wife is happy enough with what I have done in PM's, however, she would like to put some money into "savings"  something possibly with fixed amount, term and interest, to be honest, not having had anything to do with this world I am at a bit of a loss, she has always supported and trusted 😮 me with PM's but would like something that "isn't a gamble" personally I have a deep distrust of banks as discussed many times on TSF but as she has supported me I will support her so what's it to be? I have seen many investments discussed on here and have been impressed by the knowledge shown on here so any help and suggestions would be gratefully received!

Posting this under silver but could equally apply to gold, I went to an auction local to me that I have bought at before, not a lot of interest to me but 12 lots of single silver Britannia's, thought I might be able to nick a bit as I wouldn't be paying internet commissions but no, all of these coins went at around £28 pus commission to internet bidders making them around £34 plus any delivery, the last 2 went to the saleroom at £30 plus commission, these coins were all same date and nothing of significance I assume these internet bidders not aware of TSF or members so are up against dealers premiums I guess they think they have bought at a good price, as to the room bidder who knows! so glad I found TSV where we have members who are prepared to sell at very good prices!

Stack coins - no capital gains tax had to be paid, cash in upto £325k (todays values) so inheritance tax was not payable and tell 'em you inherited it or am I talking out of my a...h..e?

Ok, they may be doddering old gits (of which I am almost one of them!) but it's another take on CBCD's , admittedly a bit out of date, that no doubt the government and BofE will conveniently ignore.

danieldorkins reacted to stefffana in Auction - Caribbean pirate chest - huge silver coins + huge bonus!
    Good afternoon, dear TSF members!
I have prepared for this auction a very nice selection of sterling silver coins from Bahamas, Barbados, Trinidad&Tobago, assorted with over 410g random non-silver coins offered as bonus from the same caribbean islands (years 1966-1976) . Mostly all these coins are in exceptional condition, coming from sealed proof sets issued by Franklin Mint. The exception is the set issued by Royal Mint in 1966 (the coins developed toning and light scratches, being loose in the box).
This selection of caribbean coins is a perfect gift for a son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter as a first silver stack.
I have sealed carefully all the sterling silver coins in self adhesive coin holders. The bonus coins will come loose in a brand new wood box, bought especially for this pirate treasure collection.
The 19 sterling silver coins are totally 685.78g (according Numista) or 692.12g (according my scale), so a melting value today of @£394-£398.
These coins are higher diameters than 1oz silver Maple.
Note: the 1oz silver Maple from pictures is only for comparison purpose, it is not part of this sale.
    6 x 5 Dollars Bahamas (1966-1976); https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces19545.html.
    6 x 2 Dollars Bahamas (1966-1976); https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces26304.html.
    5 x 10 Dollars Barbados (1973-1975); https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces26311.html.
    1 x 10 Dollars Trinidad & Tobago (1975); https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces26466.html.
    1 x 5 Dollars Trinidad & Tobago (1975). https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces32979.html.
Even all these coins are selling individually at ridiculous high premiums, I am able to start this auction from @spot price, so the
    starting price is £400.
Minimum increments: £4 (1% from melting value).
The auction is starting now and will end on Wednesday, 14.06.23, at 21.00 pm. Any bid at 21.01pm will be invalidated.
Postage cost £10 will be paid by winner, on top of the final price.
The parcel will be sent on Thursday morning, RMSD.
Thank you for looking and happy bidding!🤗
    Kindest regards,
    Stefan.

    P.S.: Pictures will follow shortly.😊
