  1. i got a little john from silver trader that he classed as seconds or grade b - cant remember which, but when i got it, i only noticed a couple of small marks, nowhere near as bad as he mentioned it could be. just not found anything cheap enough to buy again from him since!
  2. ignore the conspiracy folk. its not random but driven by the various bank algothithms. each bank will have their own, so starling will be different from rbs from lloyds to santander etc. as the recipient, you wont be told it was blocked. generally if it was you making the payment. it may be your turn, it may be your spending pattern - too much, outside the usual category etc, it may be the recipient and so on. what the bank employee sees will be dependent on the software used. ie if its card transaction it can usually tell if the pin was used, card not present, phone transaction, if through online banking did the person sign on with the normal ip address, how they logged on etc the security questions can often be the hardest even for the genuine customer to get through - card limit, last few transactions etc I did it for a few years and my attitude after a few days was basically why is this fecking person fecking lying to me when trying to claim someone had stolen their card and used it to make a cash withdrawal using the pin but then putting the card back in the wallet without them noticing. you quickly had a gut feeling who was genuine and who wasnt. yelling at me saying you had a train or bus to catch usually resulted in slow system or a bad line 😈 problem is that quite a few times the anti fraud text messages asking people to confirm if something was real and could be released automatically, were thought of as fraud by customers and ignored. so no reply was received and the transaction was blocked!
  3. but.. but.. but.. if you have a 1969 coin, you will sleep safe in the knowledge that all those knocks, scuffs, dinks etc that its had over the last 50 are protected by plastic and cardboard from FINGERPRINTS!
  4. take it you have now cancelled your westminster marketing emails then? 🤣
  5. will swap you for a 1oz brit. cause i am such a nice guy, i will even let you choose whcih metal. 🧐
  6. i know someone translated it from RM speak to english before but i have forgotten. whats the difference between sold out and no longer available?
  7. edit - do you mean for products or the offer? For the products - not seen anything i want yet especially given my memorial sovereign purchases. cant dind a BBP seller profile or anyone else reputable. I know a few posters on here sell through ebay but cant remember their ebay names. For the offer - seems like you need to be logged into ebay and its a black friday banner - at least it was for me. "Up to 300 base points + 30x bonus points on one item over 10 GBP. Offer Valid:25 Nov 2022, 12:00 PM GMT - 25 Nov 2022, 01:00 PM GMT" so only valid for an hour
  8. depends what you mean by new ones in circulation. they minted the "new" definitive £2 - a britannia - in 2015 and 2016 but only released them in 21(?) but I am sure they will make up for it with the special coins they will release each week next year ( joke, i hope! )
  9. possibly, or, and this is my theory. They should have put that on from the beginning so it matches the "regular" memorial range which ends on 31 Dec. So more **** up than admittance of slow sales.
  10. finally managed to get through to tesco bank and got the charge reversed. had a chat with the agent and they confirmed that at least for the bullion side, it is classed as currency so the same as buying foreign currency, shares, but and this is the weird bit, she confirmed Bleyers are classed as a philately business!! So even though you can buy exactly the same product from both, one business you will get stung on extra fees and the other not when using their credit card. Wonder if thats why Chards dont take credit cards? Cant be arsed dealing with folk stung with fees phoning them up?
  11. trying to ( once i found a phone number online as they dont put the general customer service nbr on the statement anymore. ) and i am not sure but i think it said the call would be answered within 90 min!!!!! but they havent repeated any time after the initial mention, just that they REALLY wasnt to speak to me and I am moving forward in the queue. :sigh: but gave up after 15 min waiting. every little doesnt help in this case. but then why when buying from silver trader, bbp, bleyer etc or even silver proof circulating coins from RM have they never charged me before? I would hazard a guess it will be something to do with RM putting bullion into a separate product category.
  12. it was a couple of 1oz'ers ( a 23 brit and a king arthur ) so bullion side which is actually the first time I have bought on that side from them and why I ended up buying from someone else for the sov.
  13. got my credit card statement in today and the silver i got from mint was just inside the cut off - and they have charged my a cash transation fee for it🤬 3.99%! so just as well I didnt buy from RM as that fee would have wiped out the rewards on the card itself and the topcashback cashback! Dont know if it would be worthwhile making a sticky post of cards with no fees and those with fees to avoid?
  14. hummed and hawed and then took the plunge with my first 3 set. due to the query of whether it would be classed as a cash advance and be charged by the credit card company, i bought it from bbp with free post whilst not quite in cold beans and water for the next 2 months, i think that will be the last purchase of the year for me. ( famous last words! ) the one nagging feeling at the back of my mind is of course, is they have is described as pre order, but they have confirmed the payment has been made with delivery in january. So hopefully their order levels are big enough for me to get it. I not that RM still have the 3 set in stock. Does the 2 set come in a box? Got to be honest, I dont think its worth the extra £300 or so compared to buying them separately.
  15. email from royal mint. used it for the memorial 50p and a couple of 1oz'ers before the announcement of this set so does work.
  16. PST133. for free postage, no min order, til 20/11.
  17. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284992748809?hash=item425ae43d09:g:Le8AAOSwGcZjPyDk&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsM2InXu%2FKllyT%2FvUbX%2FOlC%2Fh%2FVVQvywX6AGMBKZ5m46%2BbjjFKJZhPLHEni1gbEmOAMcElnVyw3BFDl%2BQcdFboFXc66GcyVFYFy5bn%2FhSFf9aFo0n2HyZJOMrvrcSN4n6RoL2fTFwkQ6NFgeVwcJBbeBmsDn%2BQ4g%2Fh2drMUPmxMbaLfEnUzMN28cyaC%2FpJ6pEqSFQt9lrVjvqugQddc7hnCrp13XdllCMUxbDeqPPqh61|tkp%3ABk9SR57YoJ-OYQ £55 on ebay buy it now from this seller. might be a bit of toning or a bad reflection. but yeah, as others have said cheaper is out there. just call mulder and scully
  18. i thought you had to go on the tour to get the coin, no? I didnt see any on display for sale in the shop when i went.
  19. if its the same guy, he is a welsh youtuber who does coin hunts for £2 and 50p's which is where he pesumably gets a lot of his stock. if the ebay location is right, he is only 15 miles away from the mint so will pop along with some friends to buy the syo coins on a regular basis and buy the other stuff to sell.
  20. no prices though 😬 am i reading it right? the bullion sov will be a limit of 17500? or is that a proof? its not really clear, it just says gold coins. @LawrenceChard you getting any allocation in of the sov?
  21. that doesnt make sense as they plainly do accept payment by credit card as shown by this thread and various users. So basically BAU for the mint then. issue contradictory information and wing it! my bullion coins have already been dispatched and are with Royal Mail. They were due to be delivered between 10.26 and 12.26, but guess what? They werent and the mail tracking web page is down. Yeesh.
  22. Topcashback is normally 1% for existing rm customers and 3% as a new customer but they must have a special on as its 2% and 5% at the moment. Just ordered a couple of 1oz coins so will be interesting to see if my bank charge it as cash. if so, I will give them a call to try and get it refunded as its the first time I have bought bullion off them. But then wont buy bullion from RM again. ( the circulating side have gone through as a normal transaction - even silver proofs ) But purchases from the likes of chards ( albeit a debit card ), BBP, bleyer have gone through without the charge, so why the difference? It must be something at the RM side that is telling the card issuer that its "cash"
  23. ouch. such a shame on so many levels. 😒 1 the poor qc 2 any coin in that condition 3 your first proof 4 feel free to add your own forgot to add the obvious. no is the answer.
  24. Idealy yeah 999. and err, given your user name, is that the advice you want to give? 😜 whats the german one? I has seen silver euros or stuff from the germania mint ( I would count them as rounds ) but nothing like a brit / philly etc
