  1. Similar price thoughts here: https://www.kitco.com/news/2023-03-08/Silver-price-to-rise-1-000-as-gold-hits-5k-by-2027-governments-to-debase-their-currencies-Rob-McEwen.html
  2. Hasn't she got a famous(ish) sister?
  3. Think my brain needs to have a reset. I read 1 oz, not 1 gram. In the words of the prophet Homer "Doh!"
  4. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284997937702?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=kthCexVURkS&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=ZyP0B2QXTfG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY This looks like it was made of plasticine and sprayed silver. I like the added bonus detail of it bring minted 5 years before the Rand Refinery started issuing silver Krugerrand!
  5. To my eyes the one on the right looks like it didn't get a proper whack with the die and it looks weaker. Or somebody is forging Brits and they've made it to Blackpool in front of Semolina's camera?
  6. Now that my old son depends on the quality of the blank vinyl, the pressing and indeed what you play it back on. In my opinion a good piece of vinyl played on something such as a Linn Klimax will positively blow the bl**dy doors off. Vinyl in my experience usually wins when comparing with CD at the same price point - with the exception to this rule being sub £500, where a Rotel CD11 Tribute beats anything and everything in my book. Back on topic to RM bullion I find their 1oz silver coins dreadful (and do not buy them anymore), their 1oz gold hit and miss and - touch wood - have only ever received one new Sovereign I've turned my nose up at.
  7. A certain Blackpool dealer is 5p more expensive. Plus postage. To be honest a extra fiver or so to not to put up with Harrassment & Bull$hit is worth it in my book!

    Random Rant

At the rate it's going it'd be easier to get Tesco to deliver a weeks/ months whatever quantity of groceries to your seller in exchange for shiny item. Barter system. It's the future!
  9. As has been said no time soon. They only produce coins for circulation in fairly big batches based on when they consider it necessary. There are I believe a lot of shiny new Luzzie's in various denominations that will be used up as and when needed, ditto notes and postage stamps. Probably a number of 2023 coins will only exist in uncirculated form in a definitive year pack much later in the year.
  10. They've clearly been nosing around ebay and learning about Bin Lordery. Viz used to (maybe still does) run a strip called Nice Honest Romany folk. Seems appropriate...
  11. One thing that annoys me as it is complete utter rubbish is people who bleat on about the gold/ silver ratio like some mystical unicorn. It is an irrelevant statistic. The price of gold is in no way linked to the price of silver anymore than the price of milk is to diesel. Statistics can be used to promote any old rubbish. For example I hereby claim driving in high heel shoes is safer than driving in flat shoes. Obviously a high heeled shoe limits your control of a vehicles pedals, so obviously it is potentially more dangerous to wear whilst driving. But sod off and go through Police records of car crash fatalities and compare and contrast the amount of deceased female drivers where a note has been made of inappropriate footwear vs those deceased with no such note. The relevance of this is to try and focus people's brains in to realising that statistics will say whatever the publisher of the statistics wants them to say. Buy silver by all means, but if you're justifying it on the basis of the gild/ silver ratio you are deluded in my opinion. You'd be better off buying tulip bulbs from me at a tulip/ Sovereign ratio of 1:1.
  12. Can of gold colour spray paint from Halfords might help?
  13. My view is the same as my silver view. Down for now. I did pull the trigger and bought some gold yesterday. Not much, just a little bit. I am building up a pile of ammo ready to wade in for what for me will be a substantial chunk. But if I jump in it will be a fumbling grab at a falling knife. Don't much (mahooooooosive understatement) like the stock markets at all and haven't for a good bit. Turning into a permabear. Delisting a company off the LSE today.
  14. Down for now. It's edging towards where I might even buy some. Up longer term.
  15. I don't see anyone buying these getting rich. If you like the design then buy it, but accept it's a nice thing rather than an investment. Buying one of the stamps first day covers with attached coin might be the best chance to make money.
  16. Yeah, plus Marco whatshisface would probably hoof us out when we reach for the Heinz Ketchup!
  17. I don't like squinting, so if Chards will do me free postage on a bullion Sov I can afford a magnifying glass!
  18. Brunswick Green. Why RM have chosen to represent her in a livery she stopped wearing during WWII (she were repainted to wartime matt black circa 1942) beats me. And 4472 was not her first number either. Outshopped as 1472 which stayed until after British Empire Exhibition in 1925. I prefer Brunswick Green and the big smoke deflectors add something and massively improve visibility for crew. 🚂
  19. Nowt wrong with that lad! I once ended up looking after 60103 in recent years whilst fireman disappeared off to answer mother natures call. The green dragon were fully fired pointing at Network Rail metals with points set... tempting to go for a jolly!
  20. Ye olde website he saya 404 error nota found The elastic band has obviously slipped off the cog that links the hamster wheel to the internet.
  21. No it's purest red. This coin is manufactured in a highly complex process that involves a tin of Napolina plum tomatoes and glue.
  22. ...which probably adds up to a full bullion sov plus a few ounces of silver for good measure. Even from a pricey dealer!
  23. But it's H&B and their formula has to be something like spot price × 2 + fancy box + certificate + some more that covers the free postage + a chunk more for good measure Plus also they need to factor in 20 marketing mailshots that you end up with which will cost them 20 quid in postage!
  24. Madness I should think. If anyone wants to give me 14 grand for 2 kilos of shiny silver then I will be their best friend! 🙂
